In Mumbai, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami interacted with the people of Uttarakhand abroad and appealed for active participation in the vision, investment, employment and development of developed Uttarakhand.
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami had a cordial conversation with the people of Uttarakhand origin living in the country and abroad in the huge conference of expatriate Uttarakhand residents held in Mumbai. During this, he shared the development journey of the state in the last five years as Chief Minister, his resolve for public service and the vision of developed Uttarakhand. He said that the role of migrant Uttarakhand residents is very important in the development of the state.
Migrant Uttarakhand residents are cultural ambassadors of the state
The Chief Minister said that he feels proud to be among the people who are keeping the culture, traditions and values of Uttarakhand alive in the country’s financial capital Mumbai. He said that even though people are geographically far away from Uttarakhand, their emotional bond has always been strong. He said that on the basis of their hard work, values and achievements, the migrant Uttarakhand people are bringing glory to the state across the world and they are the biggest cultural messengers and brand ambassadors of Uttarakhand.
Migrant society plays a big role in connecting the new generation with culture.
The Chief Minister said that the love and dedication of the migrant community towards Uttarakhand is the biggest strength of the state. He said that the people of Uttarakhand living abroad and in different states of the country are also keeping their new generation connected with the culture, folk traditions and life values of the state. He also expressed his gratitude to all the migrant organizations and people present.
Development is getting new direction from Pravasi Uttarakhand Council
The Chief Minister said that the state government has constituted the Pravasi Uttarakhand Council with the aim of taking advantage of the talent, experience and expertise of the migrant Uttarakhand people for the development of the state. Through this, the migrant society is making active contribution in investment, education, health, tourism, innovation and other development works. He said that the government considers the suggestions and experiences of the migrant community as an important part of the development process.
The migrant community played a big responsibility during the disaster
The Chief Minister said that even during natural disasters and difficult circumstances, the migrant people of Uttarakhand have always provided important support in relief and rehabilitation works. He informed that on the initiative of the government, so far 27 migrants living in the country and abroad have adopted 29 villages of the state, where positive work is being done in the fields of education, health, employment and rural development. He praised the decision of Mumbai-based famous actress Himani Shivpuri to adopt her native village, calling it an inspiring example of dedication towards the motherland.
Uttarakhand is progressing rapidly under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that with the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the blessings of the Gods and Goddesses of Devbhoomi, Uttarakhand is moving rapidly towards becoming a developed state. He said that the government is working in a planned manner in all sectors like education, health, agriculture, horticulture, tourism, road and air connectivity, self-employment and women empowerment. He said that initiatives like One District-Two Products, House of Himalayas, State Millet Mission, Apple Mission, Kiwi Mission, Home-Stay Scheme, Wed in Uttarakhand, Lakhpati Didi and Solar Self-Employment Scheme have strengthened the local economy.
Big achievements from SDG index to startup ranking
The Chief Minister said that Uttarakhand has got the first position in the SDG Index of NITI Aayog. Apart from this, the state has been ranked in the ‘Achievers’ category in Ease of Doing Business and ‘Leaders’ category in Startup Ranking. He said that there has been a significant reduction in the unemployment rate in the state and Uttarakhand’s identity has been strengthened at the international level by events like G-20 meetings, national games, winter travel and Global Investors Summit.
Investment worth lakhs of crores received from Global Investors Summit
The Chief Minister said that the state has received investment proposals worth more than Rs 3.76 lakh crore through the Global Investors Summit. Of these, work on investment of more than Rs 1 lakh crore has started. He said that the economy of the state is continuously strengthening. Per capita income has increased, the budget has reached more than Rs 1 lakh crore and there has been a steady increase in the number of industries and startups.
Employment increased due to tourism and home-stay policy, reverse migration gained momentum
CM Pushkar Singh Dhami said that the positive impact of tourism based policies is visible. The number of hotels and home-stays in the state has increased rapidly and reverse migration has also gained new momentum. He said that people who were once forced to leave their villages for employment are now returning to their villages with new opportunities.
Mentioned many major laws including Uniform Civil Code
The Chief Minister said that along with development, the state government is also committed to safeguarding the cultural heritage, social values and demographic balance of Uttarakhand. He said that strict anti-conversion law, anti-riot law, uniform civil code, anti-copying law and zero tolerance policy against corruption have been implemented in the state. He said that there will be no compromise with the future of the youth and thousands of youth have been given government jobs through a transparent recruitment process.
Goal of making developed and self-reliant Uttarakhand
The Chief Minister said that the aim of the government is to create such an Uttarakhand, where both mountain water and youth are used in the development of the state and no youth is forced to migrate. Continuous efforts are being made to include Uttarakhand among the leading and developed states of the country through modern facilities, better education, employment and strong infrastructure.
Appeal to the migrant community for active cooperation in development
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami appealed to all the expatriate Uttarakhand residents living in the country and abroad to continue to actively participate in the development of the state through their knowledge, experience, investment, innovation and social contribution. He expressed confidence that with the joint efforts of the government and the migrant society, the dream of making Uttarakhand prosperous, self-reliant and the best state of the country will definitely be fulfilled.
