Fire has erupted again in the forests of Uttarakhand. This fire has spread in many parts of Uttarakhand. Apart from this, two major incidents of fire have occurred in the Gauhari range of Rajaji Tiger Reserve and on the trekking route of Neelkanth Mahadev temple in Rishikesh. Director of Rajaji Tiger Reserve, Saket Badola, said on Friday that about 1.5 hectares of forest area was affected by the fire that broke out in the Gauhari range of the area on Thursday evening.
Forest officials say that the fire in the Gauhari range of the tiger reserve has been brought under control, but the fire is still raging in an area of more than one hectare in the forest near Pundrasu on the trekking route to the Neelkanth Mahadev temple, which is being tried to be extinguished. On the other hand, Uttarkashi District Disaster Management Officer Devendra Patwal said that apart from the Varunavat hills in the border district of Uttarkashi, the forests of Barahat, Mukhem, Dunda and Dharasu range are also in the grip of fire.
The fire broke out again after 15 days
He said that forest guards, NDRF, SDRF, police and firefighters are engaged in extinguishing the fire in Uttarkashi district. Additional Chief Forest Conservator Nishant Verma said that after a decrease in incidents of fire for about 15 days, forest fire broke out again on Thursday and more than 13 hectares of forest land was affected across the state due to incidents of fire at 11 places.
1600 hectares of land was affected
He said that there was a decline in the incidents of forest fire for the last 15 days. He said that there have been 1,167 incidents of forest fire this season, which has affected about 1600 hectares of land. Verma further said that so far six people have died and five people have been injured due to forest fire in Uttarakhand. At present, efforts are on to control the fire.
