Uttar Pradesh takes centre stage as safe and diverse travel destination

Tourism leaders in India have emphasised that travelling throughout the country, particularly in Uttar Pradesh, is safer and more convenient for international travellers, especially those visiting from Singapore.
Their comments were made during the ITB Asia travel trade show held in Singapore from October 23 to 25.

Rahul Wadhwa, head of CAL India Tours and Travel, stated, “We need to educate global travellers about the attractions in Uttar Pradesh and make UP known more and above the iconic Taj Mahal in Agra.” He projected a 10% growth in the UP travel agency sector.

Wadhwa noted that his travel company in Agra is actively seeking global partnerships to facilitate travel arrangements and promote both the state and India as attractive tourist destinations. He highlighted the increase in five-star hotels and ongoing investments in highways, which make travel across India, including UP, as seamless as tourists desire.

Additionally, the travel industry has evolved technologically, shifting from traditional telex and phone bookings to quicker online and mobile app arrangements for travelers.

Sushil Kumar Singh, managing director of Jatak Travels, echoed these sentiments, stating that traveling in India is indeed safer and easier, countering any misconceptions about safety in the country. “We have tourist-friendly people and highly rated facilities across the country and in UP,” he assured.

He emphasized that the quality of destinations and services in India is on par with global standards. “We are no less than any other tourist destination,” he asserted, adding that international tourists are increasingly visiting India. Singh reported a remarkable 200 percent growth for his business since the end of the pandemic.

Recently, Union Minister of State for Forest, Environment, and Climate Change Kirti Vardhan Singh said that efforts were being made to attract domestic and international pilgrims visiting Ayodhya to the neighbouring Gonda district by improving facilities at the Tikri Forest and Parvati Arga Bird Sanctuary.

that improving this area could provide an additional draw for those coming to Ayodhya. “The Parvati Arga Bird Sanctuary, encompassing 1,084 hectares, is part of the Ramsar project. This sanctuary is home to Siberian birds and teems with over thirty local species, in addition to migratory birds from Tibet, China, Europe, and Siberia during the winter,” he explained, according to PTI.
