Used to feed beggars full of biryani, then used to take them inside the bathroom, used to ask for ‘small’ things! – News Himachali News Himachali

Such a shocking case of exploitation and unethical business taking place in the health sector had come to light, which had shocked people. Task Force Police had exposed a big scam by raiding a private sperm bank in Secunderabad.

The clinic staff used to persuade beggars and pedestrians to donate sperm by luring them with biryani.

According to the police, the people of the clinic used to target the beggars sitting outside the hospital. They were fed a hearty meal of biryani and were given Rs 4,000 to Rs 6,000. In return, they would be asked for “small” things, taken to the bathroom or a separate room, and sperm samples would be taken. These samples were sent to the fertility centers of Ahmedabad.

Link to surrogacy and selling children
It is alleged that this clinic was part of a big racket of illegal surrogacy and child selling. Sperm was collected cheaply by exploiting the poor and beggars. Police had seized 16 samples. 7 people including clinic staff and operators were detained. An FIR was registered in the matter and investigation was started. However, it could not be confirmed that all the samples were from beggars.

Falling standards in health sector
This case highlights the unethical practices taking place in fertility clinics. Sperm donation is legal in India but it requires strict rules and consent. Taking advantage of the poor by luring them is completely illegal. The task force had recovered many documents and samples in the raid. The clinic was said to have a connection with a fertility center in Ahmedabad. There was an uproar after this news came out. According to Indian law, sperm donation should be voluntary. Donation made through financial greed or fraud is illegal. The Surrogacy Regulation Act is also strict. It is important to catch such rackets.
