In Uttar Pradesh, the case of custodial death of Mohit Pandey in Chinhat Kotwali of Lucknow has started gaining momentum. Mohit’s family members have started protesting by blocking the road. The family members are demanding an FIR against Chinhat Kotwal and other accused. On the other hand, Samajwadi Party has also opened a front against the Uttar Pradesh government. SP has tried to air the matter on its official social media account.
SP has held Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath directly responsible for this incident. According to the information, Mohit Pandey and his brother Shobharam Pandey were detained by Chinhat Kotwali police on Friday evening in a case of assault. Police say that Mohit Pandey’s health deteriorated while in custody. He was immediately taken to the hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
Allegation of torture in lockup
On the other hand, his brother Shobharam, who was in lockup with Mohit, said that Mohit was badly tortured in police custody. Even when Mohit asked for water, no one gave him water. In this way his brother died in agony in front of his own eyes. Here, as soon as the news of Mohit’s death reached the family, a large number of people reached Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital. The family members demanded to call the Kotwal there.
Demand for FIR against Kotwal
Seeing the increasing ruckus, the police also tried to push people out of the hospital by pushing and shoving. After this, the family members sat on strike by blocking the road outside the hospital. The family members are now demanding an FIR against Chinhat Kotwal and other policemen. Here, due to their sitting on the road, there is a jam on the road leading from Pick Up Tiraha to Indira Gandhi Pratishthan. However, the police officers present at the spot are trying to convince them.
Brother told me what he saw with his own eyes
Mohit’s brother Shobharam told that there was a fight on Friday. After this, Doyle 112 vehicle came and reached the police station with both the brothers. There his brother was severely tortured. His brother’s health deteriorated due to the severe beating. During this time his brother was repeatedly asking for water, but the policemen did not give him even a single drop of water. During this time his brother died. There he was presented in the court.
The uncle of deceased Mohit Pandey clearly says that Mohit was beaten very mercilessly by the police due to which Mohit died.
There have been many deaths in BJP/Yogiraj due to police brutality/extortion for which CM Yogi is responsible.

Samajwadi Party has opened a front on this incident on its social media account. The party has written on its official account that Mohit has been beaten very mercilessly by the police. Death has occurred due to this. The party has alleged that many deaths have occurred due to police brutality/extortion under BJP/Yogiraj. CM Yogi is responsible for all these deaths. According to the party, CM Yogi has created such a police which is committing hooliganism, bullying and crimes.
