JSW Jetour T2 vs BYD Seal U – Mileage Compared
Both SUVs have yet to be launched in India; however, they are available in international markets, so for the comparison, we will use data from the international models.

Obviously, if you just see the figures, you could easily say that the Jetour is a better SUV in terms of mileage. But let us make clear that both SUVs were tested differently, and the Jetour’s real-world mileage figures aren’t out yet. Realistically, the 1.5-litre petrol engine of the Jetour has a claimed economy of 5.4 litres/100km, which is around 18 kmpl. So, in a worst-case scenario, you could easily extract 35-40 kmpl from this hybrid powertrain. And that figure is still good for an SUV of this size.
Talking about the mileage figures of the BYD Seal U, the brochure states it offers around 20.8 kmpl, but the test details aren’t out yet; also, it isn’t clear whether this is a petrol-only figure or a combined mileage. BYD’s DM-i hybrid tech focuses on delivering good efficiency, so we expect the final figures might vary depending on driving behaviour and the electric motor, which should deliver a good overall range.
Verdict
Both the JSW Jetour T2 and the BYD Seal U are expected to deliver good overall mileage, thanks to the plug-in hybrid tech. However, since we haven’t tested the model’s efficiency, it’s hard to say anything about any particular model at this time. But as we test or receive any official confirmation of mileage figures for the model, we will let you know before others.
