UP to launch ‘Sandhya Samvad’ outreach programme from May 8 in Devipatan division

The Uttar Pradesh government is set to launch a new grassroots outreach initiative titled “Sandhya Samvad Programme” aimed at strengthening the delivery of welfare schemes and improving direct engagement with citizens at the village level.
The programme will begin on May 8 in a selected Gram Panchayat in Shravasti district under the Devipatan division. The initiative is being introduced under the broader governance approach associated with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, with a focus on ensuring that government schemes reach beneficiaries at the last mile. Officials said the programme will be implemented across four districts of the Devipatan division-Gonda, Bahraich, Shravasti, and Balrampur.

As part of the programme, Divisional Commissioner Durga Shakti Nagpal will engage directly with villagers through an open chaupal, providing a platform for residents to raise grievances, share feedback, and discuss issues related to public services. Authorities indicated that officials from relevant departments will be present on-site to address concerns and facilitate immediate resolution wherever possible. In addition to public interaction, a one-day special camp will be organised in the selected Gram Panchayat to ensure on-the-spot delivery of benefits under various government schemes. Eligible beneficiaries are expected to receive approvals and certificates during the camp itself, reducing the need for repeated visits to administrative offices.

The schedule for the launch day includes a public hearing in the morning, followed by sessions focused on resolving departmental and pension-related matters, particularly for employees and senior citizens. Officials will also conduct inspections of ongoing and completed development projects in the district to assess quality and progress. The “Sandhya Samvad Programme” is part of a series of outreach efforts by the state administration to improve transparency, streamline grievance redressal, and enhance accountability in governance at the local level. By facilitating direct dialogue between citizens and officials, the initiative aims to identify gaps in implementation and ensure more efficient delivery of services.
