The recommendation for formation of Nomadic Development Board was approved in the meeting of Uttar Pradesh State Backward Classes Commission held in Lucknow. In the meeting, emphasis was laid on review of backward class welfare schemes, redressal of complaints and technology-based transparency.

Lucknow. The monthly meeting of Uttar Pradesh State Backward Classes Commission was held on Tuesday at Indira Bhawan in Lucknow. The meeting was presided over by Commission Chairman Rajesh Verma. In the meeting, as per the intention of Yogi government, many important issues related to social and economic empowerment of backward classes were discussed. Especially giving priority to the development of isolated, nomadic and semi-nomadic communities, the recommendation of formation of ‘Uttar Pradesh Nomadic Development Board’ was unanimously approved. This is being considered an important step to strengthen the inclusive development policy of the Yogi Adityanath government.

Approval for formation of Nomadic Development Board

In the meeting, the social status of liberated and nomadic communities, improving their access to education, employment and government schemes were discussed in detail. The Commission considered that the formation of a special board is necessary for the overall development of these communities. Keeping this in mind, the recommendation to form ‘Uttar Pradesh Nomadic Development Board’ was approved. The aim of the government is to connect these communities with the mainstream and provide them full benefits of government schemes.

Backward Classes Welfare: Public welfare schemes reviewed

Commission Vice Chairman Surya Prakash Pal, Sohan Lal Shrimali and other members were also present in the meeting. During this, the progress of public welfare schemes run for backward classes in the state was reviewed. Officials were instructed to ensure effective action to protect the interests of backward classes and solve their problems. Besides, special emphasis was laid on extending the benefits of the schemes to every eligible person.

OBC Commission UP: Instructions for quick disposal of complaints

State Backward Classes Commission Chairman Rajesh Verma gave strict instructions to the concerned departments for early disposal of the complaints received from the National Backward Classes Commission. He said that it is important to have timely resolution of complaints, so that people belonging to backward classes do not have to face any kind of problem. It was also said in the meeting that continuous work should be done towards increasing transparency and accountability at the administrative level.

UP Government Schemes: Emphasis on providing benefits of schemes through technology

Commission Chairman Rajesh Verma said that the state government is fully committed to providing the benefits of the schemes to every section of the society, especially the backward classes. He said that the priority of the government is that no eligible person should be deprived of government schemes. For this, modern technology is being used more and more in the implementation of schemes. The use of technology will increase transparency and the benefits of the schemes will reach the needy people faster.
