Uttar Pradesh government has increased the honorarium of 24,717 part-time instructors from Rs 9 thousand to Rs 17 thousand per month. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath honored the instructors by distributing checks in a program organized at Lok Bhavan.

The Yogi Adityanath government of Uttar Pradesh has given a huge relief to thousands of part-time instructors working in the Basic Education Department and has given a historic increase in their honorarium. After this decision of the government, there is an atmosphere of happiness among the instructors across the state. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath distributed checks to the selected instructors in the felicitation ceremony organized at Lok Bhavan Auditorium in Lucknow on Sunday. On receiving the honor from the Chief Minister, the instructors expressed their gratitude towards the government and termed it as fulfillment of their age-old demand.
Honorarium of part-time instructors increased from Rs 9 thousand to Rs 17 thousand
The state government has increased the honorarium of 24,717 part-time instructors to Rs 17 thousand per month from April 1, 2026. Earlier he used to get an honorarium of Rs 9 thousand per month. To commemorate this decision, ‘Instructor felicitation ceremony and check distribution program’ was organized at Lok Bhavan.
During the program, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath honored 14 selected instructors by giving them cheques. The faces of the instructors lit up with joy after receiving the honor from the Chief Minister. Rae Bareli instructor Shikha Singh said that receiving the check from the Chief Minister is a moment of pride and joy for her.
Expected to get financial relief from increased honorarium
Instructor Shikha Singh said that earlier it used to be difficult to run a family with Rs 9 thousand, but now getting Rs 17 thousand will bring relief to the financial situation. He said that the government has taken their problems seriously and has taken big steps towards their solution.
Kaushalendra Singh Chauhan of Lucknow said that the government has not only increased the honorarium but has also implemented cashless medical facility of up to Rs 5 lakh for instructors. He told that Yogi government has already increased the honorarium and this time a big relief has been given by increasing it by Rs 8 thousand.
For the first time, a grand felicitation ceremony was held for the instructors.
Upendra Kumar Shukla of Ayodhya said that for the first time after coming into service, a felicitation ceremony has been organized on such a large scale for the instructors. He said that even with low honorarium, the instructors were educating the children with full devotion, but now the government has honored their hard work and contribution. Devendra Lal of Gorakhpur said that earlier it was very difficult to run a family with Rs 7,000. Yogi government has provided great relief by first increasing it to Rs 9 thousand and now to Rs 17 thousand.
Chief Minister Yogi released ‘Holistic Report Card’
During the program, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also reiterated the government’s commitment to improving the education system. He released the ‘Holistic Report Card’ prepared for students from Kindergarten to Class 8. In this report card, not only the academic performance but also the physical, social, emotional, cognitive and personality development of the students will be evaluated. This is being considered an important step towards education reform in accordance with the new education policy.
Chief Minister handed over checks to these 14 instructors
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath presented checks to 14 instructors from different districts of the state. These include Devendra Lal of Gorakhpur, Subhash Singh of Varanasi, Upendra Kumar Shukla of Ayodhya, Praveen Rana of Lakhimpur Kheri, Shikha Singh of Rae Bareli, Hina Khatoon and Deepti Verma of Barabanki, Prachi Mishra of Sitapur, Kamta Prasad Rajput of Hamirpur, Kaushalendra Singh and Sumit Pal of Lucknow, Saloni Kasere of Aligarh, Rashmi Yadav of Unnao and Hardoi. Rashmi Singh was involved.
Honorarium of instructors was increased in 2022 also
In the program, Minister of State for Basic Education (Independent Charge) Sandeep Singh gave information about the changes in the education system of the state. He said that 9,645 instructors for health and physical education and 6,192 instructors for work experience education are working in the state, who are playing an important role in the all-round development of the students. He said that in the year 2022, the government had increased the honorarium of instructors from Rs 7 thousand to Rs 9 thousand and now it has been increased to Rs 17 thousand per month. This is being considered a big decision of the government in the interest of education workers.
Emphasis on modernization of education in UP
Sandeep Singh said that work is being done rapidly towards modernizing the education system in the state. At present, digital libraries are being operated in 1,129 schools, where study materials are being made available to students through modern technology.
Along with this, 746 Kasturba Gandhi Girls Schools are running in the state. The government is working rapidly on the plan to establish residential schools for girls in all the remaining blocks also. Free assistive devices have also been distributed to 1,64,882 children so far to promote inclusive education.
