A gang of extortionist policemen has been exposed in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh. This gang of 5 policemen was posted in Doyle 112. During patrolling, these policemen themselves used to give false information in the control room and then they themselves reached the place and collected the money. Not only this, after recovery, these people used to call the control room and get the complaint closed. In one such case of false information, this gang has been exposed. After the matter came to light, SSP Meerut has suspended all the policemen involved in the gang.
According to SSP Vipin Tada, these five policemen used to patrol in two shifts in the PRB of Parikshitgarh police station area. While on duty, he himself used to give information about any crime under control from the phone of a passerby. Since their location was near the incident site, this complaint was also received from them. After this, they used to go to that place and make illegal recovery and then call under control and get the complaint closed. These policemen have been identified as Yashpal Singh, Pramod Kumar, Jitendra Kumar, Driver Rajan, Home Guard Sushil Kumar posted in both shifts on PRV UP32DG 6343.

According to the police, the accused policemen called the control room from a passerby’s phone and said that illegal liquor was being sold. Since the location of these policemen was being found near the incident site. In such a situation, after this complaint, the event was also assigned to him. After some time, these policemen called the control from the spot and got the complaint closed. Said that the information was fake. After this, when that number was called for feedback from the control room, the phone was found switched off.

Similarly, in another case, when a feedback call came under control, the person who picked up the phone said that it was not he who made the call, but the policemen themselves had made the call. If there was doubt about this, information was given to SSP Meerut from the control room. On this information, the SSP got the investigation done and the whole matter came to light. After this, the police suspended them and filed a case.
Fraud case filed
According to SSP Vipin Tada, along with suspending the policemen involved in the gang, a fraud report has been lodged against them in the Civil Line police station. Similarly, the report against the home guard involved in the gang has been sent to the Commandant for necessary action. He told that legal and legislative action is being taken against all of them.
