Devotees and police clashed in the procession to be taken out of Rawatpur on the occasion of Ram Navami in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. It is alleged that someone threw a shoe from the mob at the police. After this, the police caught some youths. The police was taking the youths that the devotees started protesting it and then all of it started shouting slogans against the police.
On the day of Ram Navami in Kanpur, a grand procession of Ramlala Committee comes out from Rawatpur every year. Many sub -committee also attends this journey. On the day of Ashtami, religious songs and hymns were going on in some places. Which the police stopped. It is alleged that the police also seized the DJ and the sound system. There was fierce slogans in protest against this. When the people of the committee refused to take out the procession, the police came into action.
Deputy committees refused to join
An attempt was made by the police to explain a lot to the organizers. After which the Ramlala Committee decided to take out the procession, but the rest of its sub -committees refused to take out the procession. When the procession was taken out by the Ramlala Committee, the Deputy committees refused to attend it. On the day of Ram Navami on Saturday, Ramlala Committee was taking out a procession, in which hundreds of people attended.
Controversy over a shoe throwing
Meanwhile, during the journey, someone threw a shoe on the police, due to which the atmosphere was hot on seeing it. The policemen present there detained some youths. After this, there was a stir in the entire procession. Devotees started shouting slogans against the police action. As soon as the matter was known, many senior police officers reached the spot and pacified the people, after which the procession was completed.
