UP: In Kanpur, husband committed double murder in in-laws’ house, killed wife and mother-in-law with chapapad, what is the reason?

In Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, a young man brutally murdered his wife and mother-in-law with a sharp weapon. As soon as information about the incident was received, the police reached the spot and took both the bodies into custody and sent them for post-mortem. Meanwhile, the police has arrested the accused. The incident took place in Friends Colony of Chakeri.

The name of the accused is Joseph Peter alias Badal. He runs a canteen. The names of the deceased women are 62-year-old Pushpa and 39-year-old daughter Kamini. Neighbors told that Joseph had a love marriage with Kamini in 2017. The young man suspected that his wife was having an affair with someone. He told the police that Kamini used to talk to another youth on mobile every day.

Police said that Kamini lived in her maternal home with her husband. On Sunday night Joseph told Kamini that let’s go out. For this he had called an e-rickshaw outside the house. However, Kamini flatly refused to go out. Mother Pushpa also expressed her opposition to this. All three closed the door of the house and started shouting loudly. Meanwhile, Joseph attacked Kamini with a sharp weapon. Kamini fell there bleeding. When the mother came to save her daughter, Joseph attacked her too. Both lost their lives in the attack.

Neighbors informed the police

When the neighbors heard the sound, they informed the police. Neighboring young man Amit told that the accused Joseph Peter was living here with his family for a long time. He often quarreled with his wife over suspicion of her having illicit relations. There was some fight between the couple late on Sunday evening also.

An officer said that when he reached the spot and asked the accused to open the door of the house, no response was received. Then the police themselves went inside. Police found bodies of two women from the house. An iron chapapar stained with blood was also found there. On information, ADCP Rajesh Srivastava and Chakeri police station in-charge Ashok Dubey also reached the spot.
