In view of the scorching heat and heat wave in Uttar Pradesh, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has instructed the administration, hospitals and electricity department to remain in alert mode. The Meteorological Department has issued a warning of extreme heat wave in many districts from 19 to 21 May.
Lucknow. In view of the continuously rising temperatures and scorching heat in Uttar Pradesh, the Yogi Adityanath government has become completely alert. After the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) issued an orange alert for several districts, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed all district magistrates, health department, electricity department and relief agencies to remain in alert mode.
The Chief Minister has asked the officials to continuously monitor the heat and heat affected districts and provide all possible relief to the common people. The government has directed all departments to work with mutual coordination so that any emergency can be dealt with immediately.
Heatwave in UP: Instructions to maintain heat stroke wards and medical arrangements in hospitals
CM Yogi Adityanath has asked to ensure adequate preparations for the treatment of patients affected by heat stroke in government hospitals. He has given instructions to ensure availability of essential medicines, adequate beds and doctors in hospitals. Along with this, instructions have also been given to keep ambulance services fully active so that patients can get immediate medical assistance if needed. The health department has been asked to exercise special caution in sensitive districts.
Government’s focus on maintaining electricity and drinking water system
The Chief Minister has directed the officials that power supply should not be disrupted during the scorching heat and adequate drinking water should be provided to the people. Municipal bodies and concerned departments have been asked to keep a constant watch on ensuring water supply at public places. The government believes that uninterrupted supply of electricity and water can provide great relief to the people amid the scorching heat. For this reason, instructions have been issued to the Electricity Department and Water Department to be extra cautious.
CM Yogi Appeal: Avoid leaving the house in the afternoon
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has appealed to the people of the state not to leave the house unnecessarily during extreme heat and heat wave. He has especially advised children, elderly and sick people to take extra precautions. The administration has advised people to drink adequate amount of water, wear light cotton clothes and keep their heads covered while going out in the sun. People have also been appealed to avoid working in the open during the afternoon.
UP Weather Update: Possibility of extreme heat wave from 19 to 21 May
According to the Meteorological Department, extreme heat wave may occur in many districts of Uttar Pradesh during May 19, 20 and 21. During this period, the temperature is expected to increase by 3 to 4 degrees Celsius. In view of the warning from the Meteorological Department, the Yogi government has instructed all the districts to complete relief and rescue preparations in advance. The administration has been asked to ensure prompt action on any heat-related situation.
