On the inauguration of Ganga Expressway, PM Modi described it as the identity of the new Uttar Pradesh. This project will promote connectivity, industry, investment and employment. Plans for expansion to Haridwar have also started.

Hardoi. On the occasion of inauguration of Ganga Expressway, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that today not only roads are being built in Uttar Pradesh, but with them the entire state is developing rapidly. He described it as the identity of the “new Uttar Pradesh” and said that this expressway will become a new lifeline for the economy, connectivity and employment. According to the Prime Minister, Ganga Expressway is not an ordinary road project, but a strong foundation for the economic, social and industrial transformation of the state.

Ganga Expressway Expansion Plan: Connectivity to Haridwar

The Prime Minister said that this expressway is associated with the blessings of Mother Ganga and its name has also been kept after her. Now people will be able to reach Sangam and Kashi in less time. He said that earlier the crops of the farmers did not reach the market on time, but now the expressway will reduce this problem and the income of the farmers will increase.

Products like sports goods of Meerut, handloom of Hardoi, leather of Unnao and Amla of Pratapgarh will get new markets. This expressway will attract industries in 12 districts and increase employment opportunities for the youth. This project, which was completed in just five years, is now moving towards expansion till Haridwar and a big network will be created by connecting it to other expressways.

UP Infrastructure Development: Changing picture and new identity

The Prime Minister said that infrastructure is expanding rapidly in Uttar Pradesh. Major progress has been made in expressways, airports, industrial corridors and defense manufacturing. 21 airports are being developed in the state, of which 5 are international. Projects like BrahMos missile are increasing the industrial strength of UP.

He said that the state which was once called ‘sick’, is today moving towards becoming a 1 trillion dollar economy. The image of the state is changing rapidly due to investment, industry and employment opportunities.

Targeting old governments and new development politics

The Prime Minister said that earlier it was difficult to even imagine an industrial corridor and migration was common. Today investor summits are taking place and industries are growing rapidly. A large part of the mobile phones manufactured in India are now being manufactured in Uttar Pradesh. He said that earlier the identity of the state was associated with crime and jungle raj, but now it is being associated with development and investment. He also targeted the opposition and said that some people are trying to divide the society.

UPEDA Exhibition: Glimpse of Expressway Network and Development Model

During the inauguration programme, the Prime Minister visited the exhibition of Uttar Pradesh Expressway Industrial Development Authority (UPEDA). In this the expressway network, industrial possibilities and cultural heritage were presented together.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath informed the Prime Minister about the expressway network, its strategic utility and future plans. The Prime Minister described this network as the foundation stone of “new Uttar Pradesh”.

Confluence of culture and development: Special highlights of the exhibition

The exhibition showcased not only the infrastructure but also the cultural heritage of Uttar Pradesh. Tableaux like Prayagraj Mahakumbh, Art Gallery, Bird Sanctuary of Pratapgarh and the statue of Mahatma Buddha created special attraction. This gave the message that along with development in the state, importance is also being given to tradition and culture.

The construction of Ganga Expressway, its connection with 12 districts and better connectivity was explained in detail in the exhibition. This expressway will not only make travel faster but will also promote regional balanced development.
