What is the rule of getting free scooty in UP?

Rule No. 1: Study record

According to Higher Education Minister Yogendra Upadhyay, the government is currently focusing on two main things. If you fit in, only then you will get the keys to the scooter. There are two ways for the government to prepare the list, which are currently under discussion.

First- Should only those daughters of UP Board, CBSE and ICSE be selected, who have topped in their boards?

Second- Or, a chance should be given to all those students studying in college, i.e. those students of graduation and post graduation, who have got more than 75% marks.

Rule number 2: family income

The government’s entire focus is on ensuring that the benefit of free scooty reaches those families who need it the most. An income limit is being fixed for this. In which this gift will be given to the daughter of the visiting family.

Who will not get the benefit of UP Scooty Scheme?

Those girl students whose marks are less as per the criteria set by the government or who are left behind in this fixed merit list, will not be able to get the benefit of this scheme. Apart from this, names of daughters from rich or very resourceful families can be removed from this list, so that priority can be given to poor and middle class topper students.

Why the rise in election year?

This scheme was promised in the 2022 elections. After this the budget was approved, but the scheme remained stuck due to lack of guidelines. Now when the assembly elections are approaching in Uttar Pradesh, the government wants to complete this work immediately. The government is thinking far ahead behind this. Through this scheme the focus is on women voters. The government wants to bring first time voters into its fold. Apart from this, the government does not want to hand over the issue of non-fulfillment of promises to the opposition in the elections.
