CM Rekha Gupta Joins Yoga at Neeli Jheel: On International Yoga Day, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta practiced yoga with hundreds of yoga practitioners on the banks of the blue lake of Asola-Bhati and gave the message of a healthy, active and aware Delhi.
International Yoga Day 2026: Amidst the increasing challenges regarding health in a busy life, International Yoga Day was once again seen giving the message to people to return towards a balanced life. On the occasion of the 12th International Yoga Day, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta practiced yoga with hundreds of yoga practitioners in the enchanting atmosphere of the Blue Lake located in Asola-Bhati, South Delhi.
This year the theme of International Yoga Day has been kept as “Yoga for Healthy Aging”, the aim of which is to inspire people to adopt a healthy, active and energetic lifestyle even in old age. A large number of citizens showed their commitment towards yoga by participating in this program organized in the natural surroundings of Neeli Lake.

Public representatives and yoga practitioners gathered at the Blue Lake
Along with Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, MP Rambir Singh Bidhuri, Minister Sardar Manjinder Singh Sirsa, MLA Kartar Singh Tanwar and many senior public representatives and officials were present in the Yoga Day program. Everyone practiced yoga collectively and gave the message to the people to adopt yoga regularly.
During the program, various yogasanas and pranayam were performed under the direction of yoga instructors. The participants also enthusiastically participated in the yoga session and resolved to make it a part of their daily life.
Emphasis on making Delhi healthy and aware
On this occasion, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said that yoga is not only physical exercise but also a medium of mental peace and spiritual balance. He said that regular yoga practice plays an important role in improving the physical and mental health of the citizens.
The Chief Minister expressed confidence that if more and more people include yoga in their daily routine, it will give new impetus to building a healthy, energetic and conscious Delhi. He appealed to the citizens not to consider Yoga as just a one day event but make it a regular part of their life.
