Marriages of 112 couples took place in Ujjain under the Chief Minister Kanya Vivah Yojana. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav launched several development works for Simhastha 2028 and informed about the assistance received by lakhs of families under the scheme.

Bhopal. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that mass marriages strengthen the feeling of harmony and belonging in the society. He said that marriage is not just a one day event, but it is the establishment of values ​​and values ​​that last throughout life. He was addressing the Chief Minister’s Kanya Vivah/Nikah program organized by the Municipal Corporation in Ujjain at the Kartik Mela Ground located on the banks of Kshipra. On the auspicious occasion of Akshaya Tritiya, marriages of 112 couples took place with the blessings of Baba Mahakal and Maa Harsiddhi.

The Chief Minister said that this holy land of Ujjain is a wonderful confluence of religion and culture. Here on one hand Kanyadaan of daughters is taking place, while on the other hand the foundation of development works is being laid for Simhastha 2028. He told that the more simple and cultured the marriage is, the stronger and more balanced the society will become. He also shared that he had also got his son married at a mass marriage conference a few months ago.

Chief Minister Kanya Vivah Yojana: Relief to lakhs of families (MP Kanya Vivah Yojana)

The Chief Minister said that the Chief Minister Kanya Vivah and Nikah Yojana has become a big relief for poor families. From 13 December 2023 to 31 January 2026, a total of 1,57,769 marriages and nikahs have been conducted in the state under this scheme. An assistance amount of about Rs 867 crore has been given for this. In the last two years, marriages of 641 couples were solemnized in Ujjain district, in which assistance worth more than Rs 3.52 crore was provided.

Big development works for Simhastha 2028 (Simhastha 2028 Development Projects)

Keeping in mind Simhastha 2028, the Chief Minister performed the bhoomi pujan of many important development projects. Their objective is to provide better facilities to the devotees. The main functions are as follows:

  • Widening of Harsiddhi to Ramghat road (₹21 crore)
  • Construction of shed for devotees in Mahakal Lok (₹ 13.30 crore)
  • Revitalization of Nilganga Lake (₹4.55 crore)
  • Development of Solah Sagar (₹1.11 crore)
  • Modernization of Kalidas Udyan (₹1.59 crore)
  • Upgradation of Vikram Kirti Museum and Auditorium (₹8.55 crore + ₹7.73 crore)

Construction of airport and helipad in Ujjain (Ujjain Airport & Helipad)

The Chief Minister informed that a new helipad is being built in Murlipura area for Simhastha 2028. Along with this, a new airport is also being developed in Ujjain. These facilities will provide convenience to more than 40 crore devotees and crowd management will be easy.

Launch of PM Shri Heli Tourism Service

PM Shri Heli Tourism Service has been started to promote religious tourism in the state. Under this service, helicopter service has been started from Bhopal to Orchha and Chanderi. This service is connecting religious places like Indore, Ujjain, Omkareshwar and wildlife areas like Jabalpur, Kanha, Bandhavgarh.

Harsiddhi to Ramghat road widening (Ujjain Road Development)

The 265 meter long road will be widened by 15 meters by the Municipal Corporation. This will facilitate the transportation of devotees coming to Ramghat and the ride route of Mahakal will also be improved.

Rejuvenation of Neelganga Sarovar and Solah Sagar (Lake Rejuvenation Ujjain)

Under AMRUT 2.0 Scheme:

  • Nilganga Sarovar to be revived at a cost of ₹4.55 crore
  • Solah Sagar will be developed with ₹1.11 crore

These works will improve water quality and strengthen environmental balance.

Development of Kalidas Garden & Museum

Kalidas Udyan will be modernized at a cost of ₹1.59 crore. Vikram Kirti Museum will be given a facelift at a cost of ₹8.55 crore, which will include modern displays and preservation of historical heritage.

Shed for devotees in Mahakal Lok Facilities (Mahakal Lok Facilities)

For the convenience of the devotees, sheds will be built on the 2500 meter long walkway in Mahakal Mahalok. Also, Vikram Kirti Mandir complex will be equipped with modern facilities and Bangar Bhawan will be developed as a currency museum.
