twisha sharma case latest update: Again a big update has come out in the famous Twisha murder case of Bhopal. Which has increased the problems of accused mother-in-law Giribala Singh and husband Samarth Singh. Now both the remands have also been extended.
Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): A Bhopal court on Tuesday extended the judicial custody of former district judge Giribala Singh and his son Samarth Singh, accused in the Twisha Sharma death case, by 14 days, i.e. till July 28. During the hearing, both the accused were presented through video conferencing. The CBI, which is investigating the case, had filed an application in the court demanding extension of the judicial remand of both of them by 14 days, which was accepted by the court.
What is the secret behind refusal of voice sample?
- Advocate Ankur Pandey, who is fighting the case on behalf of Twisha’s family, said, “The CBI sought 14-day judicial remand on the grounds that the accused are not cooperating in the investigation. They have also refused to give their voice samples. In the last hearing, the court had given permission to take the voice samples, after which the CBI went to the jail and prepared the necessary memos. The agency told the court that the accused clearly refused to give the samples.”
- He further said that the investigating agency also informed the court that some reports are yet to be examined by the Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL), while forensic analysis of some digital evidence is also to be done. Apart from this, statements of some important witnesses are also to be recorded.
CBI asked for voice samples of both the accused
- “Considering all these facts, the CBI requested to extend the judicial remand of both the accused by 14 days, and the court extended the remand for another 14 days,” the lawyer said.
- Pandey also told that CBI has once again sought permission from the court to take voice samples of both the accused. The agency says that these samples are necessary to match some audio evidence found during the investigation.
Why did mother and son refuse to give voice samples?
- The lawyer further said, “During the last hearing, both the accused had initially agreed to give voice samples. But later Samarth Singh refused, while Giribala Singh refused to complete the process after giving an incomplete sample. Subsequently, the CBI filed a fresh application for samples and the court has allowed the agency to take voice samples of both the accused.”
