‘Anti-mortem’ truth of postmortem report: Did death occur before hanging?

Bhopal Police Commissioner Sanjay Kumar has put forward scientific evidence as Twisha’s family expressed suspicion of murder. The Police Commissioner said, “According to our investigation so far and the postmortem report, this is a case of ‘anti-mortem hanging’ (hanging before death). Mother-in-law’s ‘Ganja’ claim ineffective: No drug found in medical report

The most shocking turn in this case came when Twisha’s mother-in-law Giribala Singh (who is a retired judge) had made serious allegations against the deceased. Giribala Singh had claimed that Twisha was addicted to ganja (drugs) and her family had turned their backs on her after pushing her into the glamor industry. But the Police Commissioner refuted this claim and said, “There is no indication of the use of drugs in the postmortem report. Our investigation has also not revealed any such thing.” This revelation in the medical report has made the statements of the mother-in-law completely doubtful.

Absconding husband, influential mother-in-law and that mysterious mistake of ‘suicide belt’

Since Twisha’s death, her husband Samarth Singh has been mysteriously missing, for whom the police is searching. Both Samarth and his mother Giribala Singh have been made the main accused in the case. Meanwhile, a serious negligence of the police has also come to light during the investigation. The belt used for suicide did not initially reach the postmortem table. Acknowledging the lapse, the commissioner said, “As soon as we came to know about it, Belt was sent to the hospital and the doctors’ report has been collected. This will not have any adverse impact on our main investigation, but a separate investigation will be conducted for this lapse.”
