TVS Motor Co is on a roll, and how. Not only is but the Chennai-based company is also setting new highs in monthly retail sales for its electric scooters. As per the Vahan portal (August 1), TVS Motor delivered a record 52,108 units in July 2026, up 121% (July 2025: 23,592 units). This stellar performance beats the company’s previous best of 51,632 units in March 2026.
This record performance from the e-2W market leader and strong monthly numbers from the Top 10 OEMs barring one, mean that July 2026 retail sales of 191,949 units are the third highest monthly deliveries for the Indian e-2W industry after March 2026 (199,411 units) and June (194,938 units). Considering 88,911 units were sold between July 1-15 as per Vahan data, the second half of the month was better with an additional 103,038 units sold.
July’s 191,949 units are India e-2W Inc’s third-highest monthly sales after March (199,411 units) and June (194,938 units). The 717,230 units in April-July 2026 are a 71% YoY increase.
As the seven-month data table above shows, retail sales have jumped from May, a month which witnessed four petrol hikes and accelerated the ongoing transition of 2W buyers to EVs. July is the second consecutive month of 190,000-plus sales after June (194,938 units) and takes cumulative January-July 2026 sales to 1.16 million units, up 57% YoY (January-July 2025: 742,108 units). For the first four months of FY2027, the 717,230 units are a 71% jump (April-July 2025: 420,589 units), which reflect the surge of demand that took place in June and July following the sharp rise in the price of petrol. In a segment with nearly 190 players, let’s take a closer look at the Top 10 led by a belligerent TVS Motor Co and its closest rival Bajaj Auto.
TVS Motor Co: 52,108 units, up 121% YoY
Market share: 27%
The manufacturer of the iQube and Orbiter was in full charge in July, posting its highest monthly retail sales. At 52,108 units, the YoY increase is 121% (July 2025: 23,592 units). This score beats TVS’ previous best of 51,632 units in March 2026 and gives it a 27% market share, which is a 5 percentage basis point increase over the 22% it had in July 2025.
Deliveries of the iQube and Orbiter have risen month on month in the current fiscal: April (40,118 units), May (43,018 units), June (47,413 units) and now July 52,108 units). TVS’ cumulative four-month sales of 182,657 units are up 88% YoY (April-July 2025: 96,974 units) and already 51% of its FY2026 sales of 358,025 units. This means it is on track to achieve a record 550,000 units in FY2027, surpassing the half-a-million milestone for the first time.
While the flagship iQube remains the model with the highest share of sales, the Orbiter is witnessing growing demand. What has helped drive demand is TVS’ strategic move to offer the Battery-As-A-Service (BaaS) across its EV portfolio. The BaaS model lowers the upfront cost, while offering customers long-term battery assurance. EVs are now a key growth driver for TVS, considering every fifth scooter it sells is electric.

Market share: 23%

The reach of Chetak stands at over 530 exclusive stores, supported by a wide network of 4,500 customer touchpoints across more than 850 cities. Growth Set to Accelerate in the Coming Months
Seven months into the calendar year, total retail sales of 1.16 million units are up 57% YoY (January-July 2025: 742,108 units). Four months into the current fiscal year (FY2027), India e-2W Inc has clocked retail sales of 717,230 units, marking handsome 71% YoY growth (April-July 2025: 420,589 units).
