New Delhi: A very big and very happy news is coming for crores of employed employees of the country. Employees Provident Fund Organization i.e. EPFO has started transferring interest money to the accounts of PF account holders for the financial year 2025-26. This time the government is giving interest at a strong rate of 8.25%. SMS of money being credited have also started coming on the mobile phones of many subscribers. If you have not received any message yet, then take heart, because this secret and lengthy process of transferring interest is underway. You can check whether a huge amount has been credited to your account or not by sitting at home with some easy tricks.
4 magical ways: Check your secret balance without waiting for SMS
If you are also tired of waiting for the message from EPFO, then now you do not need to worry at all. You can know the complete truth about your account with just a missed call or a short SMS.
Method 1: Just one missed call and the balance will be visible
The easiest way is the missed call service. Give a missed call to 011-22901406 from your registered mobile number. The call will automatically disconnect after two rings. Immediately after this, an SMS will come on your mobile, which will contain information about your PF account balance and available amount.
Second method: Get complete information by sending an SMS
If you want information in Hindi then type EPFOHO UAN HIN in the message box of your mobile. Here, instead of UAN, write your 12 digit Universal Account Number and send it to 7738299899. Within some time, you will get information about your PF balance from EPFO through SMS.
Third method: View complete passbook from UMANG app
You can also check PF balance and passbook by downloading UMANG app. After logging into the app, select EPFO option and click on View Passbook. After this enter the UAN number, verify with the OTP received on the mobile and your complete PF passbook will be visible on the screen.
Fourth method: Check online on EPFO portal
Balance can also be seen by visiting the official website of EPFO. Go to the For Employees section on the website and select the Member Passbook option. After this login by entering UAN, password and captcha. As soon as you login, complete information about the amount and interest deposited in the account will be visible.
Big shock of new rules: Now you will not be able to withdraw the entire PF money even if you want!
Amidst the joy of receiving interest, EPFO has changed a rule which has surprised many employees. Under the new rules, now no member will be able to withdraw the entire money from his PF account in the form of partial withdrawal even in emergency. Now customers will have to mandatorily leave at least 25% of the total ‘Eligible Member Balance’ in their PF account. Understand this with a direct and shocking example – if a total of Rs 1 lakh is deposited in your PF account, then according to the new law you can withdraw only Rs 75 thousand. The remaining Rs 25 thousand will remain locked in the account, which no one will be allowed to touch.
That secret way of online claim: Withdraw funds with these easy steps
- If you are in dire need of money, then go to the official member interface portal of EPFO and log in.
- Submit by entering your UAN, password and captcha code on the right side of the website.
- As soon as you fill the OTP received on the mobile, a new page will open in front of you.
- There, go to ‘Online Services’ tab and select Form-31, 19 and 10C from the drop-down list.
- Verify your bank account number and select Form No. 31 for advance claim.
- After filling the details like how much money is required and why, your claim will be submitted as soon as you enter the Aadhaar OTP.
