In Saharanpur district of Uttar Pradesh, the wife of a trainee policeman committed suicide by hanging herself. The two had fallen in love just a few days ago. After that the family members got both of them married as per Hindu customs. At the same time, now the wife committed suicide and ended her life. Police reached the spot after receiving information and brought down the body from the noose and sent it for post-mortem. Apart from this, on the complaint of the relatives of the deceased, the police have registered a case against three people from the in-laws side and started investigation.
The deceased’s father Virendra lodged an FIR at Nagal police station and said that his daughter Neha (25) was married to Vipin on 9 December 2022 as per Hindu customs. It is alleged that Vipin’s father, brother and sister were not happy with the marriage. Used to demand dowry continuously. Vipin had just joined UP Police and had gone for training.
Demand for dowry worth Rs 5 lakh cash and car worth Rs 20 lakh
According to the police, before marriage, Vipin was posted as a constable in Bijnor. Neha used to work as a staff nurse in Dehradun. During that time both of them fell in love. The deceased’s father alleges that Vipin’s father, brother and sisters were against the marriage. There was a demand for dowry worth Rs 5 lakh and a car worth Rs 20 lakh in the marriage. When the demands were not met, everyone refused to marry but Vipin married as per his wish. After marriage, Vipin got selected for the post of Inspector and now he is undergoing training in Sitapur and has been in Sitapur for the last 6 months.
The deceased called her father before committing suicide
At the same time, the girl’s side alleges that within a few days of the marriage, Vipin’s father, brother and sister started harassing their daughter Neha. Started harassing her mentally and physically. Many times even attempts were made to kill him. The girl had told this to her father several times by calling her, but due to fear of breaking the family, the father explained it to Neha. The father told that Neha called him on his mobile on the night of 29th November (Wednesday) and told him that her in-laws were troubling her a lot. After that, on Thursday, Nagal police station informed about the daughter’s suicide. Family members allege that Neha has been murdered.
On this entire matter, Saharanpur SP Dehat Sagar Jain says that the post-mortem of the dead body is being conducted. Also, on the basis of the complaint of the deceased’s father, a case of dowry and murder has been registered against the in-laws.
