IRCTC CNF Probability: How to know in advance the chances of waiting ticket being confirmed? How does the ‘CNF Probability’ feature of the IRCTC app show the percentage of train ticket confirmation? How to check whether waiting train ticket will be confirmed or not in just 2 minutes from mobile?
Waiting Ticket Confirmation Chance: Before traveling by train, you too must have faced the tension of waiting for tickets at some point of time. While booking a ticket, when WL (Waiting List) is written on the screen, the heartbeats start to wonder whether the seat will be confirmed or not? Will you be able to travel or will you have to cancel your plans? To remove this tension, there is an amazing hidden feature in the official app of Indian Railways IRCTC, whose name is ‘CNF Probability’ (Probability of being confirmed). Let us know what this feature is, how it works and how you can use it properly.
What is IRCTC’s CNF Probability feature, how does it work?
‘CNF’ means ‘Confirm’ and ‘Probability’ means possibility. This is such a smart tool of IRCTC, which tells you in advance what are the chances of your waiting list ticket getting confirmed. Behind this, a special brain of the computer, AI and old data works. This tool sees how many people had canceled their waitlisted tickets in the train of this route on this festival, this season or this particular date in previous years. It shows you an exact percentage (%) based on the same old records.
When is the highest chance of getting a train ticket confirmed?
- The highest probability of ticket confirmation is 80% to 100%.
- 50% to 70% means the matter is stuck in the middle. Your seat may or may not be confirmed.
- Less than 50% means there is very little chance of the ticket being confirmed.
- What are the chances of getting a train ticket confirmed? How to check from mobile app
- Open the IRCTC app, login and search by entering the train and date of where you want to go.
- When the list of trains appears, click on the class (Sleeper, 3AC etc.) of the train of your choice where ‘WL’ (Waiting) is written.
- As soon as you click on the weighting option, below you will see a small button or text on which ‘CNF Probability’ is written. Place a finger on it.
- Now a graph or a straight number will appear on your screen (eg- 85% Chance of Confirmation). If the chance is good, you can book the ticket.
Always keep these 3 things in mind while buying a waiting ticket for a train.
- Many times general waiting list is high, but seats are found vacant in senior citizen or ladies quota. Make sure to change it while buying the ticket.
- While booking a ticket, IRCTC asks you to select an ‘option’. Always keep it on. If your seat is not confirmed in this train, then Railways will give you a vacant seat in another train of the same route.
- The first chart is prepared about 10 hours before the departure of the train. Many times, many tickets are confirmed at the last moment, so keep checking your status till the last chart.
