Near the DSC ground of Assistant Treasurer police station area in Purnia district of Bihar, a clerk of Bayasi Court was stabbed to death by his own brother-in-law late in the evening. It is said that the attacker took revenge for his sister’s suicide by killing his brother-in-law. The police is conducting raids at various places to arrest the accused.
Regarding the incident, the deceased’s maternal uncle Dilip Kumar Gupta said that Gaurav Kumar, a lawyer in the Biasi court, was sitting in his friend’s shop near the DSC ground as usual. Meanwhile, his brother-in-law Jyotish Kumar and Ravi Kumar came and started arguing. Meanwhile, Jyotish Kumar took out a knife and attacked him brutally. Injured by the knife attacks, Gaurav fell on the ground. Local people admitted him to a private hospital where doctors declared him dead.
Took revenge for sister’s death
According to the information, the deceased was married to Gaurav Kumar, son of Ramnath Sah, resident of Chitrawani Parvati Hata, on 28 November 2021. After 4 years of marriage, on May 1, 2024, the body of Gaurav Kumar’s wife Priyanka Kumari was found hanging in the house. The family had filed a case in the Assistant Treasurer police station accusing the in-laws of murder over dowry.
Appealed for justice to higher officials
The deceased’s brother alleged that his sister died due to torture by her mother-in-law, father-in-law and husband. In this case, the police took action and sent the mother-in-law to jail. The husband was not arrested, after which brother Jyotish Kumar appealed to many higher officials for justice, but the sister’s husband was not arrested. After which the brother, who was burning with revenge, killed his brother-in-law by stabbing him with a knife late on Friday night.
It is said that about 14 to 15 attacks were made on the deceased. As soon as the information about the incident was received, Sadar SDPO reached the spot and investigated the matter and raids are being conducted at various places to arrest the attacker.
