Time changed for IPL 2025 mega auction, shocking reason revealed

Before IPL 2025, there will be a mega auction in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Every three years, there is a mega auction in the IPL, where all the franchises come to prepare new squads, because the teams are allowed to retain very few players. This time a total of 1,574 players had registered for the auction. Out of these, 577 players have been shortlisted by the IPL Governing Council. This auction will be held on 24 and 25 November at Abadi Al Johar Arena in Jeddah. But the timing of this auction has been changed.

Changed time of mega auction

According to media reports, BCCI has decided to change the timing of the auction and start it on November 24 at 3:30 pm Indian time. Earlier this auction was to be held from 1 pm. Now the auction will start at 1 pm local time of Saudi Arabia. BCCI said that this change has been made at the behest of the broadcasters. BCCI said in its press release, ‘Please note that now the time of auction will be 1:00 pm Saudi time/3:30 pm Indian time.

Bidding will take place in two sessions on both days of the mega auction. The auction will start at 3:30 pm Indian time and will continue till 5 pm. After this there will be lunch and then there will be a second session from 5:45 pm to 10:30 pm Indian time. The schedule will remain the same on both days. In which 367 Indian and 210 foreign players will participate. All the teams have already retained 46 players, so a maximum of 204 slots will be filled in the auction.
