A massive robbery has taken place at a textile owner’s house in Tholur, near Kechery in Thrissur. Thieves stole 50 pavans of gold jewellery from the home of Shakkeer, who runs a textile shop in Parappur.

The thieves broke in through the back door of the house. They then forced open the almirahs in the bedroom and took all the gold. They seem to have used a crowbar to break the back door. This part of Shakkeer’s house is right next to a railway track, so it’s a secluded area with not many people around. Police believe the thieves used this route to get in.
