Ram Ugraha Pandey, who attained martyrdom by sacrificing his life to protect the country, was posthumously awarded the Mahavir Chakra, the second highest military medal, by the Government of India. The 53rd martyrdom day of the brave son was celebrated in his native village. In the same war, the death anniversary of Mahavir Chakra winner Ramchandra Mishra, resident of Rewasda village, was also celebrated in his village.
Mahavir Chakra winner Ram Ugraha Pandey was born on July 1, 1942 in Aimabanshi village. After joining the army, during the India-Pakistan war, on 22-23 November 1971, he destroyed three bunkers of Pakistan with indomitable courage and bravery on the eastern border. The Pakistani army was frightened by this. The panicked Pakistani army opened heavy fire, in which he was martyred and left an indelible mark of his bravery.

In such a situation, the common people also have some responsibility to take care of the families of the martyrs, so that the soldiers get more morale. On the 53rd martyrdom day of Mahavir Chakra winner Martyr Ramugrah Pandey, Subedar Major Lieutenant IP Maurya attended the tribute meeting. Along with him, Ghazipur MP Afzal Ansari also reached Shaheed Park in the program and paid tribute to martyr Ramugrah Pandey.

Martyr Ram Ugraha Pandey, who displayed indomitable courage and bravery in the 1971 India-Pakistan war, was awarded Mahavir Chakra, the second highest military honour, by the then President VV Giri. The 53rd martyrdom day of martyr Ramugrah Pandey was celebrated at the Shaheed Park located in his native village Aimabanshi. Addressing the tribute meeting on this occasion, Lieutenant IP Maurya said that the way a soldier considers the entire country as a family and regularly sacrifices his life to protect it. Similarly, it is the responsibility of the common people to take care of the happiness and sorrow of the families of the martyrs and at the same time stand shoulder to shoulder.
Donated donation amount to martyr’s daughter
Along with this, MP Afzal Ansari talked to the family members of Ramugrah Pandey and inquired about their well-being. He also talked about giving a contribution amount of Rs 51000 to the martyr’s daughter Sunita Devi in the Parliament. On the occasion of 53rd Martyrdom Day of Martyr Ramugrah Pandey, a contribution amount of Rs. 1 lakh was presented by the Guard Unit. In the tribute meeting organized, Lieutenant Subedar Major IP Maurya, as the unit representative, presented the contribution amount to martyr’s daughter Sunita Pandey on the stage.
All facilities provided by army
Along with this, he informed that after a lot of efforts, the martyr’s daughter has started getting Mahavir Chakra pension. Soon they will be provided all the other facilities provided by the army. Army officers Major Subedar Ishwar Pal Maurya, Shashikant Yadav, Sudhir Yadav, Upendra Yadav, Ballister Maurya, Sonu Lal, Surajpal B were present with him.
