Amarnath Cave: Snow Shivalinga is visible in the Amarnath cave temple for some time in the year. Then this Shivalinga becomes extinct. Devotees make the arduous journey to Amarnath to have darshan of this Shivalinga. There is no statue here.
Achaleshwar Mahadev Temple: There is no idol of Lord Shiva or Shivalinga in Achaleshwar Mahadev temple. There is a pond here, which is considered to be the thumb symbol of Lord Shiva. Devotees worship this. This temple is in Achalgarh, Rajasthan, which is situated in the hills of Mount Abu.
Jwala Ji Temple: There is a temple of Jwala ji in Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh. There is no idol of the goddess here, rather nine natural flames have been burning since eternity. These are considered to be the nine forms of the Goddess and are worshipped. This mother’s flame is burning naturally and not with oil or ghee.
Ambaji Temple: Ambaji temple is in Banaskantha, Gujarat. This is also considered a Shaktipath. ‘Shri Bees Yantra’ is worshiped here. There is no statue in the temple.
Kalinath Temple:Kalinath (also known as Kalimath) temple is in Rudraprayag, Uttarakhand. Here too, Shree Yantra is worshiped instead of the idol of any goddess. This place is considered to be the place where Mother Kali merged into the earth.
Kodungallur Bhagavathi Temple: Kodungallur Bhagwati Temple is in Thrissur district of Kerala. There is a secret pond in the sanctum sanctorum here, which is worshipped. There is no idol of the goddess here also.
