Sawan Shivratri 2026: The month of Sawan is considered very special. According to Drik Panchang, this year the holy month of Saavan is going to start from 30th July and continue till Saavan Purnima on 28th August. Shiva devotion is considered especially beneficial in this month. Along with devotion to Shiva, this month is also a month of festivals. The festival of Saavan Shivratri is celebrated on the Chaturdashi date of Krishna Paksha of this month, the importance of which is considered equal to that of Shivratri.
This time there is a coincidence of Siddhi Yoga and Punarvasu Nakshatra on Sawan Shivratri. That means this year Saavan Shivratri is going to be celebrated in these two auspicious yogas. On the day of Sawan Shivratri, huge crowd is seen in Shiva temples. Along with the devotees, Kanwariyas in large numbers perform Jalabhishek of Lord Shiva on this day and receive his blessings. Sawan Shivratri 2026 Timing of Siddhi Yoga and Punarvasu Nakshatra
This year, there will be a coincidence of Siddhi Yoga and Punarvasu Nakshatra on Sawan Shivratri. On August 11, on the day of Saavan Shivratri, Siddhi Yoga is going to last from morning till 06:51 in the evening. On Saavan Shivratri, Punarvasu Nakshatra is going to last from early morning till 10.09 am. Then Pushya Nakshatra will start. There is a religious belief that work done through Siddhi Yoga is successful.
Sawan Shivratri 2026 puja auspicious time
On the day of Sawan Shivratri, Brahma Muhurta will be from 04:22 to 05:05. The auspicious time of the day i.e. Abhijit Muhurta will be from 12 noon to 12.53 pm. Nishita Muhurat of this day will be from 12:05 am to 12:48 pm. On Sawan Shivratri, devotees can perform Shiva worship and Jalabhishek only from Brahma Muhurta.
Shadow of Bhadra on Sawan Shivratri
There will be shadow of Bhadra on Saavan Shivratri. Bhadra will start from 05:48 am in the morning and will last till 03:22 pm. On this day Bhadra will be on earth. However, due to this there will be no hindrance in Shiva worship. Do not do auspicious work only during this time.
