‘This victory was essential for Bagnaia; the fight with Martín is very open’ – Enea Bastianini

After a race marred by an incident with Fabio Quartararo and a frustrating crash, Enea Bastianini reflected on his own performance and praises Francesco Bagnaia’s turnaround in the fight with Jorge Martín for the title, which he believes is wide open.

Bastianini didn’t hide his frustration at the challenges he faced, quoted by Motosan: ‘What bothered me most was my mistake. In the first corner, Quartararo passed and we both went off the track.I lost positions coming back, just as Pecco did in another race. Then, at turn three, I pushed hard to recover and got up to seventh place before crashing. It was a shame, because I could feel the front tire lacking grip.

As for the battle for the championship between Bagnaia and Martín, Bastianini highlights the unpredictability of this final stage, now with two rounds still to go: ‘I could have fought for the podium, maybe not for the win, but it would have been interesting to fight with [Pedro] Acosta. As for Bagnaia, I was hoping he’d get back to the top.I didn’t understand what was making it difficult for him to be at the front, but this win was essential for him.The fight between Bagnaia and Martín is very open, and anyone can win.

These statements reinforce the intensity of the final phase of the MotoGP season, with Bastianini stressing that the championship is still far from decided.
