‘This is Tamil Nadu’s final warning to PM Modi’: Stalin’s fiery warning to Centre over delimitation

Chennai: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin has released a video warning the Union government and Prime Minister Narendra Modi that if the special Parliament session scheduled for April 16 to discuss constituency delimitation is conducted in a way that adversely affects southern states, Tamil Nadu will launch strong protests. He added that the state’s Members of Parliament will not remain silent and will voice their opposition inside Parliament as well.

Stalin’s vehement outburst

In a video statement posted on his ‘X’ handle, Stalin asserted that a grave danger regarding constituency delimitation has arrived right at Tamil Nadu’s doorstep. “The parliamentary session is convening the day after tomorrow. Parliament is being convened specifically to introduce the Constituency Delimitation Bill. Is constituency delimitation to be a punishment for practicing family planning and successfully controlling population growth?” he questioned.

Stalin accused the Centre of attempting to introduce legislative changes that would favor northern states while disadvantaging southern states, and asserted that Tamil Nadu would firmly oppose such moves. “They are attempting to implement this delimitation without consulting a single state,” he stated.

“A final warning from Tamil Nadu”: MK Stalin to PM Modi

Stalin declared, “Elections and political power are merely secondary; principles and ideology are paramount. I am not merely the Chief Minister; I am also the President of the great Dravidian movement—the DMK. This serves as a warning issued directly from Tamil Nadu. As proponents of Self-Respect, our principles and ideology are of the utmost importance to us.”

“If Tamil Nadu is harmed, we will ensure that the entire nation of India is forced to turn around and take notice,” Stalin warned. He further stated, “This is Tamil Nadu’s final warning to Modi,” adding that India may have to witness the “Old DMK” once again and see a side of Tamil Nadu never seen before.

Tamil Nadu MPs will participate in the special session convened to address the issue of constituency delimitation, scheduled from April 16 to 18.
