The Election Commission has postponed the Lok Sabha elections scheduled for May 7 at Anantnag-Rajouri Lok Sabha center till May 25. The politics of Jammu and Kashmir has heated up after the Election Commission changed the date of elections in Anantnag-Rajouri Lok Sabha centre. People’s Democratic Party (PDP) said that an attempt is being made to repeat 1987. At the same time, National Conference (NC) President Dr. Farooq Abdullah took a dig at the Election Commission of India (ECI) and said that it has never happened in history that an election has been postponed merely due to a landslide.
He said that if we had to go to Pakistan, we would have gone in 1947 itself but we decided that we will live in Gandhi’s Hindustan, but today this Hindustan is no longer that Hindustan, if these people come back then the name of Hindustan will be erased.. This election is not an election of electricity and water, this election is an election to save India and Hindustan.
After the Election Commission revised the date of voting for Anantnag-Rajouri seat and announced May 25, a strong reaction has come from the major political party People’s Democratic Party (PDP). PDP on Wednesday protested against the Election Commission at the party headquarters in Srinagar and strongly condemned the decision of the Election Commission.
According to PDP leaders, the Election Commission is again trying to repeat the situation of 1987, but it will not happen. Senior PDP leader Naeem Akhtar opposed this decision and said that the government is trying to repeat 1987 here, but this time not with weapons, people will answer it with votes and whenever elections are held, BJP and its allies. Will have to face defeat.
Politics started after postponement of elections
National Conference Vice President Omar Abdullah, while commenting on this notice issued by the Election Commission, said that an attempt is being made to benefit BJP and its allies from this step, otherwise there is no reason to postpone the date. According to Omar, this is not the first time that the Election Commission is helping the BJP, but whatever they do, they can conspire as much as they want. BJP and its allies will have to face defeat in this election. He said that this election is not about electricity and water, but about saving India.
Jammu Kashmir Apni Party President Altaf Bukhari has welcomed this decision of the Election Commission. According to Altaf Bukhari, he welcomes this decision of the Election Commission, which was his request and it has been partially accepted. According to Altaf, the weather is bad there. Mughal Road is closed for four days. It was said so because of the people who live above. Other independent candidates also said that they were not able to reach the upper areas. It is good, because in democracy every vote matters.
Election Commission’s big decision on Anantnag-Rajouri seat
According to Jammu and Kashmir People’s Conference President Sajad Lone, only the Election Commission has the right to postpone the elections and if there was a demand from any particular section or community that the date be changed, then there is nothing wrong in that.
It is noteworthy that the Election Commission on Tuesday revised the date of voting for Anantnag-Rajouri parliamentary constituency from May 7 to May 25. The Election Commission had issued notification for the constituencies in the third phase on 12 April and the polling day was scheduled for 7 May.
