Ayodhya: After allegations of alleged irregularities related to offerings in Ram temple, the activities of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust are once again in the center of discussion. On Monday, the important meeting of the Trust started under the chairmanship of Mahant Nritya Gopal Das, in which many important issues including the resignation of General Secretary Champat Rai and Trustee Anil Mishra were discussed. According to sources, there was a serious discussion in the meeting regarding accountability, system improvement and ongoing investigation within the Trust. Considering the sensitivity of the meeting, its venue was also changed and it was held in the Ram Mandir complex.
Champat Rai and Anil Mishra stayed away from the meeting
According to sources, Champat Rai and Anil Mishra did not attend the meeting. It is being told that some trust members had put a condition that the meeting would take place only if both were not present in it. The meeting was started by Trust Treasurer Swami Govind Dev Giri by presenting the agenda. In this, issues related to the offering dispute, administrative decisions and the functioning of the Trust were discussed in detail. Many members arrived in person, while some members joined the meeting through video conferencing.
Members expressed concern, questions raised on moral responsibility
During the meeting, members expressed concern over the alleged offering controversy and said that this incident has sent a wrong message across the country. According to sources, some members believe that Champat Rai should accept moral responsibility because of being on the post of General Secretary. The members also said that the entire system of the Trust cannot be blamed, but there should be an impartial inquiry into the levels at which there has been negligence or lapses in judgment. It was also reportedly discussed in the meeting that some appointments were made without adequate consultation.
Trust in SIT investigation, demand for action against culprits
According to sources, the members of the trust expressed confidence in the SIT investigation of the case and said that after the completion of the investigation, strict action should be taken against whoever is found guilty.
Before the meeting, Trust President Mahant Nritya Gopal Das also reacted to this entire incident and said that this matter is related to the faith of crores of devotees. He expressed hope that on the basis of investigation, strict action will be taken against the culprits and the culprits will not be spared at any level. However, the official announcement of the final decisions taken in the meeting is awaited. The final position on resignations and other proposals will be clear only after a formal statement is issued by the Trust.
