First smoke rose in the pediatric ward (SNCU) of the Medical College, no one understood anything and soon flames started rising in the pediatric ward. At the same time, this accident also exposed the hospital arrangements. Fire fighters are still busy extinguishing the fire in the hospital.

Despite the fire in the child ward, the safety alarm did not go off. People have said that if the safety alarm had been raised in time, such a major incident would not have happened. There was only one gate to exit the infant ward, but at the time of the accident, flames were rising at the gate. In such a situation, even those who were outside could not go inside to save the children.

After how much time could the rescue work begin?

According to the information, the rescue work to rescue the children started about half an hour after the fire broke out. DM Avinash Kumar said that the children trapped inside could not be saved, the children who were outside have been saved.

There has been an exchange of children

In Jhansi Maharani Lakshmi Bai Medical College, there is a separate infant ward (SNCU) for children, in which only 52 children can be admitted. During the fire, many children were transformed in the stampede; the one whose parents were a girl got a boy and the parents who had a boy got a girl.

CM Yogi took cognizance of the accident

The cause of the fire is said to be a blast in the oxygen cylinder. CM Yogi has taken cognizance of the accident. Orders have been given for relief work. All the officers including DM are present on the spot. The incident occurred around 10:30 pm. DM said that all the children who are injured are being monitored. Also said that an investigation team has been formed, which will give its report. After the fire in the medical college, family members are seen crying. A big team of doctors from Kanpur has been sent to Jhansi. On the instructions of CM, Deputy Chief Minister Brijesh Pathak and Principal Secretary Health have also reached Jhansi.
