Aam Aadmi Party national convenor and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal presided over the meeting of the party’s National Executive and 12th National Council on Sunday. Party officials from across the country participated in both the meetings held through virtual medium. While Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann and National Organization General Secretary Dr. Sandeep Pathak themselves were present. During this, Arvind Kejriwal said that Aam Aadmi Party has got unprecedented success in the last 12 years. We have done that work which other parties could not do even in 75 years. The work done by the AAP government in Punjab in the last two years shows that if we have a government in the entire state, we can work very fast.
He further said that AAP has made a very impressive impact in national politics in just 10 years. For the first time in the country, opposition parties have been forced to talk on school-hospital issues. Now these people have even stolen our guarantee word and manifesto. Now these people have also started saying Modi’s guarantee and Congress’s guarantee. These people gave guarantees to the public, but no one fulfilled them because their intentions are not good, whereas we are fulfilling all our guarantees. During this, he also said that our five leaders who are in jail are our heroes and we are very proud of them.
AAP is the right option for the public – Kejriwal
Arvind Kejriwal said that this is the 12th National Council meeting of the party. 12 years is nothing in the history of any party. It takes a person’s entire life to win the MLA seat and many slippers get worn out. Aam Aadmi Party has achieved unprecedented success in 12 years. The only reason for this is that we have done what other parties could not do. People gave a chance to Aam Aadmi Party first in Delhi and then in Punjab. The work we did was never done by any other party. We started talking about education, health, electricity, inflation and employment, which no other party had ever done. For the first time in the country, people got a proper alternative to these parties and people started liking the politics of work.
Fast work within Punjab- Kejriwal
Giving credit to CM Bhagwant Mann for the work being done in Punjab, Arvind Kejriwal said that for the last 75 years, these two parties have ruled Punjab one after the other and have made the state such that the youth, businessmen, people and farmers are all Were sad. These people had looted the government treasury and emptied it. After this, about two years ago, seeing the works of Delhi, the people of Punjab gave a chance to the Aam Aadmi Party. The work that has been done in Punjab within two years shows how fast the Aam Aadmi Party can work if we have a government in the entire state. Today, more work has been done in many areas of Punjab than the work we did in Delhi in 8-9 years.
The promises made by the people in Punjab have been fulfilled – Kejriwal
Arvind Kejriwal said that there are many areas of the country where there is no electricity. Like Delhi, earlier there was no electricity in Punjab too, but 24 hours free electricity is available. When our government was formed, there used to be long power cuts of 6-7 hours. We had promised the people to provide 24 hours electricity. After the formation of the government, we felt that it would take at least 4-5 years to provide 24 hours electricity. But within two years, today electricity is available in Punjab 24 hours a day and there are no power cuts.
He said that earlier the farmer used to yearn for electricity, but today he is getting full electricity. Now about 90 percent people in Punjab are getting free electricity. The best thing is that the government power generating company PSPCL was running in losses before our government was formed. But after the formation of our government in Punjab, people started getting 24 hours free electricity and the company also made a profit of about Rs 540 crore. The reason for this is very clear that our intentions are clean, we work hard, we are educated people.
Earlier private companies used to loot in Punjab- Kejriwal
Arvind Kejriwal said that till now we have seen that whenever a government is formed, the first thing they do is to sell government companies (PSUs). They sell airlines, airports, coal mines, BHEL, railways, everything. Everyone knows how corruption happens in selling. They give Rs 1,000 crore to a government company worth Rs 10,000. Then the private company earns a lot of money from it.
He said that for the first time in the history of India, the Punjab government has purchased the private thermal power plant running in Punjab. This was a company worth Rs 4 thousand crores which the government has bought for Rs 1080 crores. This shows how honestly this work has been done. This has also saved government money. Now the government itself will generate cheap electricity through that company. This will reduce the electricity rate by Rs 1.5 per unit.
Center has created many obstacles in Delhi- Kejriwal
Arvind Kejriwal said that in our work in the field of health in Delhi, there were a lot of obstacles from LG Sahib and the Central Government and after a lot of struggle, today there are 500 mohalla clinics in Delhi, whereas in Punjab, within just one and a half-two years, 650 mohalla clinics are functioning. And by January 26, their number will reach 750. Similarly, about 40 big government hospitals of Punjab are being rejuvenated. These hospitals are being made better than private hospitals.
He said that whenever he used to go to Punjab before the elections, he always found raw workers on dharna. The government was not ensuring them. Our government confirmed all the raw employees. Now everyone is working. And are happy. A lot of government jobs are being given to the youth in Punjab. Till now, more than 40 thousand government jobs have been given. Apart from this, investment worth about Rs 50 thousand crore has come to Punjab. This investment will create about 3 lakh job opportunities.
Doorstep delivery scheme now in Punjab – Kejriwal
Arvind Kejriwal said that after Delhi, now the plan to take the elderly on pilgrimage has started in Punjab also. Doorstep delivery of services has been started. The government has issued 1076 helpline number. People of Punjab can avail government services sitting at home by calling this helpline number and there is no need to go to any government office. After this, Doorstep Delivery of Ration Scheme is also going to start. People will not even need to go to the ration shop, instead packed flour and rice will be delivered to their homes in sacks.
It is necessary to strengthen the organization in the country- Kejriwal
Arvind Kejriwal said that it is very important for us to form and strengthen our organization across the country. Elections cannot be won without a strong organization. To build the party organization in the states, everyone will have to work hard in their respective states. Aam Aadmi Party is part of the India alliance in the Lok Sabha elections. Whatever seats we get in seat sharing, we have to contest the elections well and we will make every effort to win all those seats. In states where Aam Aadmi Party is not contesting the Lok Sabha elections, party volunteers from those states will come and help where it will contest the elections. He said that after Lok Sabha, Haryana Assembly election is the biggest election for us. Aam Aadmi Party will contest the Haryana Assembly elections with the intention of forming the government and we will put all our strength into it. Haryana elections are likely to be held in October-November.
Our party leaders are going to jail for good – Kejriwal
Arvind Kejriwal said that there are about 1350 political parties in our country. In these 10 years, Aam Aadmi Party has come to third place among 1350 political parties. Apart from this, people of the country would know about 5-10 more political parties. We formed our own party. If we too were not successful like those 1350 political parties and did not do anything good, then no leader of our party would have gone to jail and today everyone would be happy in their homes and families. We will have to go to jail for the paths we have chosen for the public good. If you give good education to children then you will have to go to jail, if you provide free treatment to the poor then you will have to go to jail. Therefore, it is important for all of us to decide whether we want to go to jail or not. If you are ready to go to jail, then continue on the path of providing good education to children and free treatment to the poor.
