You must have heard many stories where tenants stay at the rented house and capture it there. A similar case has come up from Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh. The tenant did not pay the house rent for 40 years. The house was not even emptied. Now the Allahabad High Court has ordered him to pay a fine of Rs 15 lakh within two months. Otherwise, the amount will be recovered after two months.
The Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court has said that an entire generation has been denied its rights due to cases. The court disposed of the 30 -year -old petition while giving the order. Also, the District Magistrate has directed Lucknow that if damages are not given in 2 months, then it should be recovered.
The case is related to a property located on Faizabad Road in the capital. The tenant did not pay the rent from 1979 and in 1981, when the property mistress asked to vacate the property, the cases got entangled in the cases. In 1982, Mistress of Property Kasturi Devi filed a petition in front of the authority. After this, the matter reached the High Court in 1992.
Tenant’s petition dismissed
The High Court on Monday dismissed the petition of tenant Vohra Brothers and said that an entire generation was denied rights for nearly 40 years. The High Court imposed a fine of Rs 15 lakh on the tenant. The High Court ordered DM Lucknow that if the amount of damages is not deposited in 2 months, then recovery should be done.
The house was fixed to capture
In 1982, Mistress of the property, Kasturi Devi asked the petitioner to vacate the property of Faizabad Road so that she could start her son in it. But the Vohra Brothers not only refused to vacate the property, but did not even fare. At that time, the property fare was 187 rupees. The tenant started litigation for illegal possession of the house.
