Did not appear in court despite summons being sent several times
According to ANI report, the 48th Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate (ACJM) Court of Bengaluru has issued a non-bailable warrant against Prakash Raj. The court says that summons were sent to the actor several times, but he did not appear in the court and respond. The court admitted that Prakash Raj remained absent continuously and did not follow legal instructions. In such a situation, the court took a strict stance and decided to issue a non-bailable warrant against him.
What is the matter of having multiple voter IDs?
According to the report, this matter is of the year 2019. At that time, lawyer Dilip Kumar had filed a complaint at Halsur Gate Police Station in Bengaluru. It was alleged in the complaint that Prakash Raj’s voter registration was present in not one but 4 states. According to the allegations, his name was recorded in the voter lists of Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. According to the rules of the Election Commission of India, any citizen can keep his voter registration at only one place. Registering as a voter in more than one place is considered a violation of the rules.
Prakash Raj has already declared the allegations wrong
However, Prakash Raj has earlier rejected these allegations. He had clarified that he votes only in Tamil Nadu and has valid voter registration from there. Now after the non-bailable warrant issued by the court, it is believed that his lawyers can approach the higher court to get relief. They can seek a stay on the warrant or immediate bail.
Prakash Raj’s name also came up in the religious place dispute
Recently, Prakash Raj’s name was also in discussion regarding the Dharamsthal case. This matter came into limelight when C.N. A person named Chinnaiah filed a writ petition in the Karnataka High Court. Chinnaiah claimed that he was used as part of a larger conspiracy related to funding to defame Dharmasthala Temple Nagar. In his petition he also mentioned Prakash Raj and mentioned the phone conversation with him.
Gave complete information to SIT Chief
Responding to this controversy, Prakash Raj had told the press that he had received information through social activist Girish Mattanavar that Chinnaiah wanted to talk to him. According to Prakash Raj, being a responsible citizen he immediately contacted Special Investigation Team (SIT) chief Pronab Mohanty and shared complete information. He said, “As a citizen, whatever information I got, I immediately passed it on to the SIT Chief. This can be confirmed from him also. I fulfilled my responsibility and the matter ends there.”
