Chennai Super Kings New Head Coach: Chennai Super Kings, one of the most successful franchises of IPL, is going to get a new head coach soon. Recently, veteran coach Stephen Fleming and CSK had mutually decided to end their 18-year-old historic journey. After this big change, now Chennai Super Kings has started searching for its new head coach. According to media reports, former Indian cricketer Hemang Badani is currently leading in the race for the post of head coach of CSK. The most unique and interesting aspect of this news is that Badani had once been a player of this team, but he did not even get a chance to take the field.
Once sitting on the bench, now he will take command of the team!
Hemang Badani has an old and unique relationship with Chennai Super Kings. He was a part of the CSK squad in the 2009 IPL season. However, the composition of the team during that time was such that they did not get a chance to play even a single match in the entire season. But now the wheel of time has turned such that the same player who never got a place in the playing eleven, has now emerged as the biggest contender to guide the entire coaching staff and team of this franchise.
Badani has a lot of coaching experience, which makes him a strong contender for this post. He has served as the head coach of Delhi Capitals (DC) in IPL for the last 2 years. Hemang Badani has won four titles in the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) under his coaching. Apart from this, he has also won two trophies in Sri Lanka’s T20 league Lanka Premier League while being a mentor. In South Africa’s T20 league SA20, he had made Sunrisers Eastern Cap the champion in the very first season under his coaching. Apart from this, he helped Dubai Capitals win their first title in ILT20 in 2025.
