After the historic success of ‘Dhurandhar’, Ranveer Singh has become India’s highest-grossing actor. According to reports, he has defeated every Indian star.
There was a time when an actor taking a fee of ₹ 10 crore was considered big news, but the changing times of Indian cinema have now taken the earnings of stars to new heights. In 2026, a Bollywood star not only left the Khans behind but also broke the records of the big superstars of the South. After the bumper success of ‘Dhurandhar’, Ranveer Singh has become India’s highest-grossing actor. According to reports, Ranveer has got a share of around ₹325 crore from this film, which is considered to be the biggest earning of any actor from any Indian film project till date.
Journey of Indian stars’ fees
In the 90s, Chiranjeevi, Kamal Haasan and Sridevi became the first stars of Indian cinema to charge ₹1 crore for a film. After this, in the 2000s, Shahrukh Khan, Salman Khan and Aamir Khan created new records of earnings through fee and profit sharing model. With the increasing influence of South cinema in the last decade, stars like Rajinikanth, Yash and Allu Arjun started charging fees worth crores.

‘Dhurandhar’ changed Ranveer Singh’s fate
Ranveer Singh’s film ‘Dhurandhar’ was originally shot as one film, but was later released in two parts. Both the films together made a gross collection of around ₹ 3200 crore worldwide, while the net collection in India is said to be more than ₹ 1900 crore. This success took Ranveer to the top in terms of earnings.

Bet on profit sharing model, not fees
According to reports, Ranveer Singh had given up his traditional fees for this film. He adopted a profit sharing model and later invested himself as the production budget increased. Due to this, his share in the profits of the film increased significantly. According to trade estimates, Ranveer Singh’s total share, including theatrical earnings, distribution share, bonuses and income from digital, satellite and music rights, came to around ₹325 crore. This is considered to be the biggest earning of any actor from any Indian film project. The largest share of the total profit of the film has gone to Jio Studios. After this Aditya Dhar’s B62 Studios got profit. However, Ranveer Singh’s share in the cast is said to be the highest.
Rajinikanth’s record broken
Before Ranveer Singh, the record of India’s highest-grossing actor was in the name of superstar Rajinikanth. According to reports, Rajinikanth had earned more than ₹250 crore from the 2024 blockbuster ‘Jailor’. Now Ranveer Singh has left this record behind. The record of highest earning in Bollywood was in the name of Shahrukh Khan for a long time. In the year 2023, he had earned around ₹ 200 crore per film from blockbuster films like ‘Pathan’ and ‘Jawaan’. But Ranveer Singh also made this record in his name with the figure of ₹325 crore.
Allu Arjun-Prabhas left far behind
After the historic success of ‘Pushpa 2’, Allu Arjun’s earnings were reported to be more than ₹200 crore. However, Ranveer Singh’s figure has gone far ahead of that. It is clear that now the Bollywood star has once again won the crown of the most expensive actor of the country. After the success of ‘Kalki 2898 AD’, there were reports of Prabhas earning more than ₹200 crore. But Ranveer Singh has taken an even bigger leap and set a new benchmark. After the success of ‘KGF’ franchise, Yash has also become one of the most expensive stars of India. However, according to current reports, Ranveer Singh’s earnings from ‘Dhurandhar’ have far surpassed his figures. Yash’s total wealth is around Rs 53 crore. According to this, Ranveer Singh’s earning from ‘Dhurandhar’ franchise is more than 6 times the net worth of Yash.
