UP Crime News: In Aligarh, Rishta’s aunt has been accused of exploitation, blackmailing and forcibly pressurizing her 17-year-old minor nephew for marriage. After the family’s complaint, the police arrested the accused woman and started investigation.
A case that has come to light from Aligarh district of Uttar Pradesh is raising serious questions regarding both the dignity of relationships and the law. In a village under Iglas police station area, a 17-year-old minor boy has accused his cousin aunt of physical abuse, threats and blackmailing. After receiving the complaint, the police have arrested the accused woman and started investigating the case.
The victim’s family alleges that this incident was not just for one or two days, but had been going on for the last two and a half years. According to the family, the minor remained silent for a long time out of fear and social stigma, but when the situation worsened, he told the whole story to his family members.
Contact started while working in the field
According to the minor victim, about two and a half years ago, when he went to work in the fields, a woman living in the neighborhood started talking to him. It is alleged that the woman gradually approached him and later started pressurizing him. The minor claims that when he tried to maintain distance, he was threatened with being implicated in a false case and police action. Due to this fear he could not protest for long.
Allegation of pressurizing for court marriage
Family members say that the matter became more serious in recent months. It is alleged that the woman was pressurizing the minor to get a court marriage done. The victim’s mother claimed that the accused woman was already married and had children, yet she was insisting on living with her son. According to the family, when the minor refused to marry, she and her family were threatened with dire consequences.
Didn’t tell the family because of fear
The victim’s elder brother says that the minor was under mental pressure for a long time. Recently, she tearfully narrated the entire incident to her family and said that she was troubled by the constant threats. After this the family decided to contact the police.
Police made arrest, investigation continues
As soon as the complaint was received, the Iglas police station took action and arrested the accused woman. The police have sent the minor for medical examination and counselling.
Officials say that all aspects of the case are being investigated and further legal action will be taken based on the available evidence. At present, the police is examining the statements of the victim and family along with other evidence.
