India Women vs ECB Development Women’s XI: The Indian women’s cricket team is currently on a tour of England. A 3-match T20 series is to be played between the two teams, which is very important in view of the preparations for the T20 World Cup 2026. Before this series, the Indian women’s team performed brilliantly in the warm-up match and defeated the ECB Development Women’s XI by 7 wickets. In this 20 over match played at the Ambassador Cruise Line Ground in Chelmsford, the Indian batsmen displayed aggressive batting and scored more runs than the target.
Team India scored 45 runs more than the target
In this warm-up match, the ECB Development Team, batting first, scored 154 runs for 6 wickets in 20 overs. During this, Florence Miller played a useful inning of 48 runs on 41 balls, while Joan Gardner added 36 runs on 27 balls. Captain Sophia Smale returned to the pavilion after scoring 27 not out. On the other hand, Arundhati Reddy performed most effectively among the Indian bowlers and took 3 wickets. Deepti Sharma and Shreyanka Patil also got 1 wicket each.
In reply, the Indian women’s team achieved the target at the loss of 3 wickets in just 16.2 overs. But even after achieving the target, the match continued and Team India scored 200 runs playing the entire 20 overs. Actually, this was a warm-up match, so to strengthen its preparations, the Indian team decided to play full 20 overs, so that the players could get full opportunity. Due to which the Indian team scored 45 runs more than the target.
Shefali Verma’s stormy innings
In this match, Shefali Verma played an amazing innings for Team India. He scored 50 runs in 25 balls at a strike rate of 200, which included 9 fours and 1 six. After this she retired and went to the pavilion. At the same time, Smriti Mandhana, who took over the captaincy in the match, gave a good start by scoring 21 runs. Apart from these, Yastika Bhatia played aggressive innings of 47 runs on 35 balls and Bharti Fulmali played aggressive innings of 48 runs on 29 balls. Arundhati Reddy also scored 20 runs.
