The first song ‘Ve Junoon’ of ‘Awarapan 2’ was released on Tuesday. Composed by Mithun, this track is written by Saeed Qadri and sung by Subodh Sharma.
What did the composer and producer say about the song?
On creating this track, composer Mithun said in a press note, “Making the music of ‘Awarapan 2’ stemmed from a very special creative chemistry between us. Vishesh creates a deeply emotional world, and Qadri saab has the rare ability to distill the most complex emotions into words that feel simple and personal. With ‘Way Junoon’, we knew there had to be pain and weakness in the voice as well as a certain strength. When we heard Subodh, So there was an honesty in his voice that immediately connected with the spirit of the song. For me, that simple connection was everything.”
Producer Vishesh Bhatt further added, “The music of ‘Awarapan’ is an emotional memory of an entire generation. To recreate this magic for ‘Awarapan 2’, we needed Mithun’s musical instincts and Saeed Qadri’s poetic authority. ‘Ve Junoon’ is the result of that talent, elevated by Subodh’s voice. There is something rare and raw in his voice that no amount of experience can teach. You would have either Is it or isn’t it? And they have it.”
‘Awarapan’ is a cult classic
Directed by Nitin Kakkar, ‘Awarapan 2’ will continue the story of Shivam Pandit and add a new chapter to the franchise. The original ‘Awarapan’ directed by Mohit Suri was released on June 29, 2007. The film, starring Emraan Hashmi and Shriya Saran, did not perform well at the box office at the time of its release, but gradually it gained a strong cult following among fans. Its music, especially tracks like ‘To Phir Aao’, remain popular today and are played in cars, parties and playlists even years later.
The story of the first film revolves around Shivam Pandit, a contract killer who is asked to keep an eye on his boss’s girlfriend. After learning that she is a victim of sex trafficking, he decides to help her reunite with her boyfriend.
