Imtiaz Ali’s film ‘Tamasha’ is known as one of the cult classic films of today’s times. Today the film has a huge fan following and people consider this film a masterpiece. This film had everything… a great story, great starcast, great songs and strong acting. Apart from this, even in technical aspect, this film was no less than a masterpiece.
‘Tamasha’ may have been a flop at the time of its release, but today Tamasha has a fixed number in the favorite list of every cinephile. The lead stars in the film were Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor, but there was also an actress who got a chance to join this film but she rejected the offer.

There can’t be a ‘star’ like Deepika
Deepika played the character of Tara in Tamasha very well. She was so engrossed in this character that it seemed as if no one else could have played this role better than her. But, this character of Tara was first offered to actress Anushka Sharma, however, the actress refused to do it.
Why did Anushka refuse?
Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma is always in the news for her film choices. She is an excellent producer and also a brilliant actress but she refused for the sake of Tamasha. He had a special reason behind saying no to this film. During a conversation with Desk in 2016, Anushka Sharma was asked if she faced any problem in not doing Imtiaz Ali’s film ‘Tamasha’. In response, Anushka said that she rejected the film because its focus was more on Ranbir Kapoor’s character.

What did Anushka say?
He further said that he has not seen the film, but he is sure that if he had done the film, he would have received praise. Anushka said, “I have no doubt that if I had done the film, I would have been praised. Any actor will always be good in Imtiaz Ali’s film because he is a good director and is very good with his actors.” Ranbir and Deepika have done a great job together in films like Bachna Ae Haseeno and Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, but their pair found a different kind of love in Tamasha.
