After the death of Mewar royal family member and former MP Mahendra Singh Mewar, an uproar has started regarding the coronation of his elder son Vishwaraj Singh Mewar. On Monday night in Udaipur, supporters of Vishvaraj Singh Mewar sitting at the gate of City Palace were pelted with stones. Stones were pelted at them from inside the City Palace. Because of this the atmosphere inside the Old City has become heated. Meanwhile, the coronation ceremony has been completed. After the ceremony, Vishvaraj Singh Mewar tried to enter the City Palace, but he was stopped at the gate.
Regarding this incident, supporters of Vishvaraj Singh Mewar are protesting on the road outside the City Palace of Udaipur. Vishvaraj Singh Mewar himself is also sitting there. Apart from a policeman, many other people have been reported injured in this incident. On the other hand, according to tradition, Vishvaraj Singh Mewar is also adamant to have darshan of Dhuni inside the City Palace. Seeing the seriousness of the matter, the District Collector had asked for one hour’s time from Vishwaraj Singh Mewar, but in the meantime stone pelting started.
Tradition of Dhuni Darshan after coronation
Because of this the ruckus increased further. According to Udaipur district administration, there is a tradition of Dhuni Darshan after the coronation of the new ‘Maharana’. After this the king also has to visit Ekling Ji temple. It is being told that after the coronation ceremony, Vishvaraj Singh of Mewar had also reached Mewar City Palace to visit Dhuni Darshan and Ekling Temple, but he was stopped from entering the City Palace.

Even stones were pelted at him from inside the City Palace. This enraged his supporters. Let us tell you that on Monday morning, Arvind Singh Mewar had published a general notice in the newspapers, banning unauthorized entry into City Palace and Ekling Ji Temple. He had also sought help from the district administration for law and order. At present Collector and SP are present on the spot.
Collector and SP are trying to calm down the matter by convincing both the parties. Let us also tell you that Vishvaraj Singh Mewar’s wife Mahima Kumar is a BJP MP from Rajsamand Lok Sabha seat. Vishvaraj Singh Mewar himself is a BJP MLA from Nathdwara assembly seat.
