The doctor is a profession on which all people close by closing their eyes. People often do not check the doctor’s degree and trust them before undergoing treatment. However, recently a case has come to light where a fake heart doctor (cardiologist) took 7 deaths due to alleged fake doctor at a missionary hospital in Damoh, Madhya Pradesh. Also, the same doctor had undergone surgery of former Speaker of Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly Rajendra Prasad Shukla in a private hospital here in 2006, after which he died, his son claimed this on Monday. The doctor has been arrested.
The MP police has arrested the doctor from Uttar Pradesh. On Sunday, the MP police filed an FIR against the accused allegedly having fake medical degrees on charges of forgery and dishonesty. Investigation is being done in this case. Former Speaker of the Legislative Assembly Rajendra Prasad Shukla was then an MLA from Kota of Congress. He died on 20 August 2006 at Apollo Hospital. He worked as the first Speaker of the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly from 2000 to 2003.
Speaker dies after surgery
Pradeep Shukla (62), the youngest son of the former MLA, said that the alleged fake doctor Narendra Vikramaditya Yadav was working at Apollo Hospital in 2006 when his father was admitted there. Pradeep Shukla said, Yadav had done heart surgery of my father. After this, he was on a ventilator for 18 days before he died on 20 August. Yadav joined Apollo Hospital 1-2 months ago. Pradeep Shukla claimed that he was told by Apollo Hospital that Yadav is the best cardiologist and he does surgery using laser.
Pradeep Shukla further said that we later came to know that Yadav has no doctor’s degree and he is a fraud. Complaints were also made against him earlier. They were examined by the Bilaspur unit of the Indian Medical Association. Pradeep Shukla further said, “After my father’s death, some more cases of death of the patients who treated Yadav have also come up, after which he was asked to leave Apollo Hospital.”
Accused of killing father
Pradeep Shukla alleged that about 80 percent of the patients who treated Yadav died in the hospital, claiming that his father and others were “murdered”. Deep Shukla further said, when my father died, he was an MLA and the cost of his treatment was borne by the state government. Investigations should be conducted against Yadav and Apollo Hospitals as they too have cheated the government.
Another son of the former MLA, Justice (Retired) Anil Shukla said that an FIR should be lodged against Yadav and the hospital where he was working at that time. With this, Public Relations Officer of Apollo Hospital Devesh Gopal confirmed that Yadav had served there.
Data is being collected with a doctor
Public Relations Officer Gopal said, Yadav was associated with the hospital about 18-19 years ago. This is a very old matter. For how long he was posted and how many patients he handled, accurate figures are being collected. All data will be shared after the documents are collected.
Dr. Pramod Tiwari, Chief Medical and Health Officer of Bilaspur said that after the matter came to light, he has sought all the information from Apollo Hospital regarding Yadav. Dr. Tiwari said, Hospital Management has been asked to gather information about Dr. Narendra Vikramaditya on Tuesday morning. The information sought, includes how long he was working there, what was his degree and how many people did they operate.
He said that if any irregularity is found in the case, then a high -level inquiry committee will be constituted and accordingly further action will be taken against the person and the hospital management.
