Sabarimala temple opened for worship of Edavam month
Sabarimala temple has been opened for worship in the month of Edavam. At 5 pm on Thursday, the doors of the temple were opened and the lamp was lit in the presence of Tantri Kandar Mahesh Mohanar. After this, fire was poured into the deep well located below the eighteenth step. Devotees have been allowed darshan from 5 am on the first day of the month of Edavam. After five days of worship, the temple will close at 10 pm on May 19. The temple will be reopened for the Pratistha Day puja on May 25. Prestige Day is on 26th May.
Padi puja will be held on the eighteenth padi, after Deeparadhana, from the first day of the month of Edavam. This is in addition to the regular monthly pujas. Pilgrims coming for Sabarimala darshan will have to book slots through virtual queue. Officials have informed that only those making booking through virtual queue will be allowed for darshan. In view of the monthly puja, the Devaswom Board and the police have made elaborate arrangements for the devotees.

How to book for darshan?
- First, the website www.sabarimalaonline.org log onto.
- If you are using this service for the first time, click on the ‘Register’ button and enter your name, mobile number, photo and identity card (Aadhaar, Voter ID etc.) to create an account.
- Those who already have an account can ‘login’ by entering their mobile number and password.
- After logging in, a calendar showing upcoming monthly pujas or festivals will appear. Check whether the date and time (slot) you want to join is available and select it.
- A person can add people to a group through an account. It is necessary to provide photo and identity card information of each person.
- Facility to book offerings like Aravana and Appam in advance is also available.
- After entering the information, click on ‘Submit’. Once the booking is complete, a coupon (receipt) will appear on the screen.
- Download the coupon you received as a PDF and print it or save it on your phone.
- While going for darshan, it is mandatory to carry the original identity card used for booking.
- Virtual queue coupon is required for inspection at Pampa and Nilakkal.
