The ‘Black Deer’ controversy is not stopping. Has Salman Khan’s image been used without permission? Is the film inspired by the famous black buck case of 1998? Delhi High Court has postponed the hearing for the time being. Director Bharat S Srinath bluntly said, “Salman Khan is not God, he can’t stop me.” On the other hand, Govind Namdev has also distanced himself from the film.
The film ‘Black Deer’, which was in the news for the alleged black buck case related to Salman Khan, has now reached the center of legal and public controversy. The actor has approached the court demanding to stop the release of the film. He alleges that the filmmakers are using aspects related to his identity and life without permission. On the other hand, the film’s director Bharat S Srinate is rejecting these allegations outright. Meanwhile, Delhi High Court has postponed the hearing of the case till July.
Delhi High Court postponed the hearing for the time being
The petition filed regarding the film ‘Black Deer’ was heard in the Delhi High Court on Friday. Senior advocate Sandeep Sethi, appearing for Salman Khan, sought interim relief from the court. He quoted Salman Khan in the court as saying, “He is making a film on my life and tearing the notice and throwing it away. He has no right to make a film on my life. I am seeking an interim injunction. The teaser of the film has already been released.”

Director’s counterattack – Our character is not Salman Khan
Amidst the legal dispute, director Bharat S Srinate has clearly denied that the film is based on Salman Khan. He said, “This bracelet is not a patented thing. If Salman feels that only he can wear it then he should get it patented. I completely disagree that this film or its character is based on Salman Khan. Our character is not Salman Khan. It is just a film.” The director further said, “We did not do any prosthetic make-up to make the actor look like Salman. Our actor naturally looks like him. I cannot change his appearance. What should I say if anyone has a problem with it?”
‘Salman Khan can’t stop me’
Bharat S Srinate expressed his displeasure over the legal notice, saying, “Salman Khan is not God. He is not my godfather. He can neither stop me nor make or break my career.” He further said, “Our film has been made with the hard work of many people. Suddenly an attempt is being made to stop the film by sending a legal notice. It takes years of research and planning to make a film.”

The director also said, “Sending a legal notice in one fell swoop means stopping all the hard work done so far. He is doing this because he thinks the film is about him. First he should watch the film and then decide.”
Next hearing will be on July 1
Additional time was sought from the filmmakers to file their reply. After hearing the arguments of both the parties, the court directed Salman Khan’s legal team to provide all the documents to the defendants and gave time of July 1 for the next hearing of the case. Now the eyes of the film industry and the audience are fixed on July 1. The next hearing in the court may play an important role in deciding whether ‘Black Deer’ will be released as per the schedule or not.
