How many runs did Vaibhav Suryavanshi get out after scoring in IPL Qualifier-2 against Gujarat Titans? Due to which behavior of Riyan Parag did the fans get angry on social media? What did Riyan Parag say in praise of Vaibhav Suryavanshi in the presentation ceremony after the match?
New Chandigarh: In the second qualifier match of IPL against Gujarat Titans, Rajasthan captain Ryan Parag got angry at 15 year old young batsman Vaibhav Suryavanshi. Vaibhav missed his century by just 4 runs and was out on 96 runs. This was the second consecutive match when Vaibhav became a victim of nervous nineties. Earlier in the eliminator, he had scored 97 runs in 29 balls against Sunrisers Hyderabad.
When a disappointed Vaibhav returned to the pavilion after being out for 96 runs, captain Riyan Parag showed anger by pointing a finger at him. All this was captured on live camera. It is clearly visible in the video that Vaibhav is helplessly drinking water and Parag is shouting at him. Fans are furious over this behavior of Parag. People say that the captain is publicly scolding the 15 year old boy who single-handedly pulled the team out of trouble. In this match, Parag himself was out after scoring only 11 runs. Fans raised the question that the captain who could not score even half of Vaibhav’s runs in the entire season, what right does he have to scold the young player.

Not only this, even during fielding, Parag was seen shouting at Vaibhav. In the 18th over of Gujarat’s innings, when the team needed 10 runs in 12 balls to win, Vaibhav’s attention was somewhere else. On this Parag shouted loudly and vented out his anger on them. However, in the presentation ceremony after the match, Riyan Parag praised Vaibhav a lot. He said, “Vaibhav does not just swing the bat, but plays thoughtfully and with calculation. I wonder how he does this at such a young age. I hope he will wear the Indian jersey soon.”
Rajasthan had a very poor start after losing the toss and coming to bat first. Openers Yashasvi Jaiswal (1) and Dhruv Jurel (7) returned to the pavilion in the first two overs. Vaibhav also found it difficult to score runs in the beginning in front of the tight bowling of Gujarat fast bowlers Mohammed Siraj and Kagiso Rabada. He hit his first six on the 13th ball. But after this the game changed completely. Vaibhav brought Rajasthan back into the match by hitting 21 runs in a single over of Siraj. He completed the slowest half-century of his IPL career in 31 balls, but after that he showed stormy form.
Keeping Ravindra Jadeja (45*) standing at the other end, Vaibhav scored 46 runs in the next 15 balls. Ultimately, in the 18th over, while trying to upper cut Rabada’s short ball, he was caught by Prasidh Krishna at third man. He scored 96 runs in 47 balls with the help of 8 fours and 7 sixes. Thanks to Shubman Gill’s brilliant century (104) in the match, Gujarat Titans defeated Rajasthan by 7 wickets and made it to the finals. Gujarat will face Royal Challengers Bangalore in the final match to be held on Sunday, May 31.
