Shweta, daughter of Jagdish, resident of Jagannathpur village of Ghatampur police station area, was to get married on Thursday. Wedding preparations were going on at home on Wednesday evening. Relatives, guests and family members attended the mehendi ceremony. Food was also being cooked at home.

Meanwhile, there was a sudden leakage in the pipe of the gas cylinder. The fire spread within no time. While the family members were trying to extinguish the fire, the pan of hot oil kept on the stove overturned. Due to this many people present nearby got burnt. A total of 12 people including bride Shweta were injured in the accident. There was screams on the spot. As soon as the information was received, four ambulances reached the village and all the injured were taken to Ghatampur CHC. After first aid, seriously injured Shweta was admitted to the burn ward of Mishika Hospital in Jajmau, Kanpur.

Seeing the condition of the bride, both the families talked about postponing the marriage. But Vikas clearly said that he will not leave Shweta in this difficult time.
