A large-scale mock drill was organized in Puri regarding security arrangements before the world-famous Lord Jagannath Rath Yatra 2026. Police, fire service, disaster management team, medical staff and other security agencies jointly participated in this exercise. The objective of the mock drill was to ensure preparedness to deal with any emergency, crowd management and better coordination between agencies. Every year lakhs of devotees participate in the Rath Yatra, hence this time the administration is paying special attention to every aspect of security.
